no, do you have a source before game release that says you can't?

I am left handed in real life. I would have picked up on this as not many games allow or have left handed play. However, the only things I have seen are about off hand equipping for dual wielding.

as I said is nearly impossible to find pre-release infos, especially on devs website, simply because they remove them when the game is out, geniuses

does asking for proofs makes you mature or smart? can't you just believe what people say?

can you prove that left-handed combat wasn't in bethesda plans? Go find some pre-release info that says that you can only use spell and weps with the right hand and no shields then

Pre-Release Info is all over the web for this game. None of the information from the Bethblog or the Fan Interviews has been removed. Every post about Skyrim is still in the board index going back to when we opened this section in December 2011. Bethesda does not have control over content on other websites, outside of copyright concerns, so if the information was posted, it is still out there.

I read alot of pre-release info and don't remember a single statement from Bethesda saying that you could play as a left handed character.

No, but like I said, I don't have to. It isn't a matter of intelligence or maturity, it's a matter of how to make an accusation that a company lied to you.

If YOU want to call Bethesda out as liars because YOU remember being told that you could play a left handed character it is on YOU to prove it. I frankly don't give a damn, I'm a left handed person and the only things I can't put in my left hand is a sword with my shield and a bow. Good enough for me.

And there are others who remember reading pre-release info and NOT seeing mention of left handed gameplay.

Yes requiring verification of a statement before taking it on blind faith is exactly what smart and mature people do.

There doesn't have to be mention of such restriction because that's how TES has always been. The only reason there would be something in the pre-release info about it would be if they were changing TES to support left handed play, since there is no mention either way its safe to assume nothing was changed.

I am still waiting for you to show me a post or message from someone who works at Bethesda who ever said that Left Handed play outside of Dual Wielding is part of the game.

I have been searching for the statement myself and I am not finding it.

As another poster said, this would be different than any other TES game that came before, and being that I am myself Left Handed, I would have keyed on this.

I just don't get this mentality. So you are mad that the game doesn't emulate your real life persona perfectly? In real life you probably couldn't swing a sword for more than five minutes. In real life you aren't chasing dragons down and killing them. Why does this game have to emulate YOUR real life closely, can't you enjoy playing the ROLE of someone else? I mean this game also doesn't have an Ignorance perk tree and makes RPing a moron difficult but I don't see you crying about that?

AFAIK they never said you could put shields in either hand. They just said you could put a weapon or spell in either hand. That doesn't mean with a shield, they never said that you could put a shield in either hand. It's not that we don't comprehend, it's that you are wrong or have nothing that says you can do this.

And no one here is mad. We're just saying if you want us to believe that they said it you need proof.

they did say that you could equip stuff to both hands, which is in part true, but i'm sure they never said that you couldn't equip a shield or block with your right hand, so yea they didn't lied, but also they been quite vague, how bout that?

Its the inflammatory comments like "I got screwed" that make me comment. Its such a sign of our spoiled entitled mentality these days: a company did not go out of its way to include a feature that would make a small minority of people happy and thus they "are screwed". I envy your life when not having your dominant hand supported by gameplay mechanics counts as a serious problem.
