Pony Effect 3 Ending Discussion Thread [SPOILERS]

Bribery or blackmail? I wonder about these reviewers sometimes...

Probably more to do with the fact that few reviewers actually complete a game entirely before writing about it.

"So you really want to build up your war assets and you really want to build up your readiness levels so that you get the highest degree of success in your end game."

I chuckled abit when I got to this.

I'm going to link a video in the below spoiler box of a guy who PERFECTLY captures fan disappointment (not the anger) about the ending, and why its disappointing. Because when it comes down to it, most of the fans aren't angry, just sincerely disappointed.

Also, note that it list some spoilers for games like Gears of War 3 and Red Dead Redemption.

It also has a tiny bit of cursing.

I agreed with everything he said, except for I don't plan on buying another Bioware game or any of their DLC after this. I plan on following those things closely still in case something changes, but I doubt it will.

If you do certain things like.

Spoiler
Keep the prejek paddlefish alive you get the prejek paddlefish intel bonus on your second playthrough and a second play through ending. I feel like they are trying hard to get people to keep playing it.

I hate when games do stuff like that. Bonuses in subsequent playthroughs after you complete one playthrough. What in-game justification is there for your first playthrough having any impact on your second? They do it with Dragon Age as well.

Spoiler
Then they cut the Illusive Man boss fight because it's too "video-gamey"

More quotes from that behind-the-scenes-of-ME3 link!

"But Gollum, dancing like a mad thing, held aloft the ring, a finger still thrust within its circle and lots of speculation for everyone."

The End.

LOTS OF SPECULATION FROM EVERYONE!

What happened to "no Lost ending"?
What happened to closure?
What happened to no A, B or C?

You bunch of LIARS.

I didnt think this was possible. Bioware has actually brought EA's reputation down instead of the other way around.

The best way to end a series is to make sure the players don't want to replay any of it.

I guess I'll be selling my CE tomorrow before the price drops even more and my copy is worth three buttons and a sticker.

wtf man

we DO need to know the answers

what's the point of all this then

what was the point

why

why is this happening

Endings should be made to do the series justice, not as a cheap move to instigate pvssyr. It's appalling.

seriously i was calm about the endings

but that's just ridiculous

you don't need to know the answers

do i even need the game?

that's top-notch trolling

Space magic.

Remember, these are the great minds you're begging and pressuring to come up with a better ending.

And my favourite, a link: http://www.tofp.org/images/narrarc.gif

What happened to no A, B or C?

Well, to be fair, we didn't get A, B, or C. We got Blue A, Red A, or Green A.

Playing through the trilogy it was an odd process. The stakes were being consistently raised all the way through, getting better and better then it goes from "this is brilliant, moving and well thought out and written" then those last ten minutes of "huh? what? who wrote this? why are these people here, what? I don't? Huh?" through to "You've got to be kidding?! Totally wrong time to introduce a new character that makes no sense" on to "Why can't I refuse?" and "No, seriously, why can't I refuse"

To full on "Derp"

Then "Buy our DLC!"

Yeah... no.

Abject failure all the way to resounding success, a range of options for the ending would have been great.

The "derp" we got though?

Well, the derp Deus Ex ripoff we got... "I wanted orange but it gave me lemon-lime - blackcurrant or strawberry... worst v-ending machine ever"

Another (SPOILER heavy) https://docs.google.com/document/d/1QT4IUepvrU1pfv_B95oQj0H84DlCTUmzQ_uQh1voTUs/preview?pli=1&sle=true# completely picking apart the ending, in case the Gamefront article isn't enough for you. It leans more pro-indoctrination than anti-ending in a lot of places, but still. I especially like the discussion of quote #2 under the Star Child section.

Spoiler
The only instances in which a Geth ever harmed an organic for reasons other than self-defense were under influence from the Reapers. In other words, the only instance of the problem the Reapers exist to solve was a result of the Reapers intentionally causing the problem that they exist to solve. This makes absolutely no sense.

Spoiler
Does anybody else think that if you choose the destroy option, the Geth aren't wiped out? The way I interpreted it, the Reapers were using the child as a means to convince Shepard to choose either control or synthesis, and thus fall to indoctrination. I think the whole "all synthetic life while be exterminated along with the Reapers" was a load of bullshepard, especially seeing as Shepard was supposed to die in the ending due to synthetic implants, but he doesn't if your EMS is high enough.

I'm not entirely sure that I'll be so against the Ending, my Shepard will control the Reapers just like the Illusive Man wanted and, because it's so ambigious, I can imagine my human supremacist Shepard ushering Humankind into galactic dominance.

Do I get full control of the Reapers? My Shepard would turn them over to the Alliance and use it to basically become the new Cerberus. RIP Illusive Man...

A widely-believed theory that answers a lot of plot holes is that if you choose control or synthesis you become indoctrinated.

I'm sure it does but  I'm just roleplaying what my Shepard would do.
