Post 1.5 update results.

Well, it updated automatically without me knowing till I saw the kill cam with the bow. Cool once but I wish there was a way to shut off the kill cams.

First, I play this in complete and total plain vanilla mode, not one mod. I have a very powerful PC and run it in ultra and never had a crash till the last patch. Haven't played this patch long enough to see a crash yet. However, the crashes only occured when I used Bethseda's texture packs. The crashes stopped after deselecting them and have not had one since.

Okay, issues, I thought they were gonna fix the purple stumps, nope, still purple with the #2 texture pack selected, not #1. Riftin jail wall, I thought they were gonna fix that too. And what about the permanent "Collect bounty from Skulda" in Misc? Still there.

Do the devs even read these forums or is it better to open a ticket?

I'm doing a clean install too see when it starts to break. I had a working beta but the release version bugged out on me.

Darn it, I thought I was safe to update since I had tested the Beta and that was fine :/

Well, now I can study the CK a little more instead of playing.

EDIT: Total re-install fixed all my issues

What is the CK?

Anyway, here's my specs. The only difference is I have disabled like 99% of Win XP 64 Pro's services, this gives me more RAM and the proc isn't cluttered with junk it would normally be doing. I use this PC I built only for gaming.

i7 920 D0 Quad 2.66 GHz 8 MB clocked up to 3.5 GHz
ASUS P6T Deluxe V2
6 GB DDR3 1600 mushkin REDLINE Triple channel RAM
Cooler Master V8
NVIDIA GeForce GTX 285 2 GB DDR3
Thermaltake V9 VJ4000 case
OCZ 800 PSU
Win XP x64 running on a 630 GB WD
NVIDIA 295.73 WHQL

Oh good grief -- the kill cams are not configurable?!? I watched the preview and think they look awesome, but I'm sure it gets old after awhile.

Oh, okay, I didn't know. It must be used a LOT because there's thousands of mods out there.

Do you know by any chance how I can find out what today's patch, 1.5.24.0.4 fixed?

I agree, I would like to turn off the kill cams for archers, drives me crazy - good way to lose control of a room full of NPCs having the visual changed in the middle of a battle.

Anyone seen anything odd with their bow damage after the patch installed. The damage on my ebony bow went from 36 to 88; and I've seen other large jumps on other bows, i.e., plain hunting bow jumped up to 66 points damage.

But kill cams only play when you are about to kill the last standing opponent. Therefore, it's impossible to be disoriented in the 'middle of a battle'. When the cam plays, the battle has ended.

except the archery ones bug out and don't always kill the target...

Anyway, theres a variable you can set in the CK that turns off killcams. I forget the name of it, but I'm sure you can find a mod on the nexus that turns them off.

You shouldn't have to resort to a mod to turn off something like that though. There should be an option.

In fact, avoiding the kill camera stuff is one of the reasons I chose to play a mage. I'm glad I play on the PC so I can fix this with mods.

And the best part is, Bethesda has specifically stated that they will not add a toggle, despite all the comments like yours.

Absolutely untrue. Last night I had numerous killcams when there were still other NPC's alive in the group.

Just a quick question if you please, have anyone noticed broken animations for idle NPCs like eating and drinking looping crazily? Or maybe its just something with my mods, started with the beta and I haven't seen it fixed yet.

I haven't seen anything crazy like that with the NPCs. But as for the kill cams, I agree, I did see it used when there were multiple Falmer in a Dwemer ruin last night. Like I said before, it's cool the first 100 times but it gets old. Wish there was a simple selection in display where you could toggle it. All that extra coding could have went to something better IMO.

I'm such a spineless dweeb. When I read his comment about how it will get old I'm thinking "Dammit, yeah, he's right!" Then I read your comment about how it doesn't get old and I'm thinking "You know what? It really doesn't!"

It is cool actually, it's very satisfying especially after a hard battle or if you've done a particularly good bow shot - you kinda think "[censored] yeah, THAT'S an Awesome Shot!"

Well, to me it was cool, but after a while it does get old, at least give us a choice in the matter. I mean we have thousands of mods, lots of in-game choices, so why not a choice in this?

And it does disorient me for a couple of seconds when there are multiple targets. Don't get me wrong, I do like it but it's random and it has gotten stale already. When I fist saw it I thought it was cool but it eventually loses its novelty.

Just my opinion for what it's worth.

I am now crashing on exiting cities! I previously could count the amount of crashes on one hand... now we've crashed 4 times in one day :(

Not to mention I am getting more stuttering, after having just fixed the majority of my stuttering issues... :(

I had the oddity of leaving a dripping wet cave where water is falling from the ceiling to outside where the water kept falling. Clear skies shout= sunshower. Went in a building, water sound but no water falling. Had to quit and restart for it to go away.

Just wondering if you're using the Detailed Cities mod, as users are starting to report similar problems to yours with that mod since the update.

If no mods, at least try lowering your shadows.

No city changing mods... and my shadows are already set fairly low. Thinking of rolling back... but I'll keep testing for a bit... maybe just dumb luck?! Maybe not :/

Also, grass shadows look odd at times. At night, the shadows on grass are darker than the shadows on everything else... It basically appears black. I am not getting the shadow stripping others are getting, nor the "Pea Soup" water bug.

My mostly-vanilla 1.4.27.0.4 has been treated to the Unofficial Skyrim Patch (USKP).
This I did after my game choked on the new 1.5 beta patch...
I installed the latest USKP that was already changed to be compatible with Beth's v1.5.
Then, the 'real' v1.5 update installed yesterday and, no probs at all - smooth sailing.
So I'm heavily patched.
Everything good (Level 68 save; 600 hours) but I need to see these kill-cams, I want to grow tired of them too!
But there's nothing to do. Ah - I shall go do some small task for the Companions.
Anyway, USKP v1.02 beta plus Skyrim v1.5 is definitely compatible.
Kill cams? I'll let ya know...

That very irritating animated stripey shadows effect on the face, &c, while standing by the fire in Breezhome has 99% disappeared with 1.5. Woohoo!

Is this a new bug? Am a bit worried by my bow. The Damage rating prior to 1.5 was about 42 and has gone up to 117.

Is this a new bug? A weird training problem. The trainer dialog might say 1620 in gold for the next lesson but the interface says ~ 460 in gold was deducted from my purse. TBH I don't mind the discount. lol.
