Has anyone even actually SAID anything to you? >.> It's not unrealistic. Guns need maintainence to work. The dev's though that that would be the best way, and it is, actually. Would you rather have to do a minigame where you clean your gun barrel and whatnot? People like you would complain anyways. Deal with it or stop complaining. Certainly, being able to repair a pair of brass knuckles with another IS unrealistic and others like that BUT- other than those few (MAYBE five or six) examples, it's pretty decent.
This is a public forum. If you do not want random people interjecting in a conversation then take it private. Because it is public I am allowed to voice my opinion just as much as you are.
And yes I would complain about that waste of time, too. Because it does not ADD anything FUN to the game. It'd just be one more annoying delay between me and progressing the story line or killing super mutants (maybe even both).
You do, also, realize that unless you physically DAMAGE a weapon it's pretty hard to break it? I have never seen a gun that needed to replace the barrel, stock, and trigger mechanism of an assault rifle every mission (I mean why else is it requiring the use of an ENTIRE weapon to fix it a few percent?). Hell, they didn't even need to do that with muskets!
What I am saying is that this idiotic, poorly thought out, system to hinder monetary gain (or to limit carry space) does not need to happen.
Oh, and the only gun to ever need as much maintenance as these guns require was the Chauchat. Which, if we're using then it needs to be firing the 8mm round, not the 5.56.
