Am I the only one feeling sympathetic to the Legion?

Of course I'm backing the Legion.

That Vulpes Inculta is a sixy man.

When I heard about the factions in New Vegas, I thought it seemed pretty cut out for me. I always play my first guy as an extension of me, following my morals and thoughts, more or less. The factions in Vegas seemed pretty clear cut. You've got the overbearing bullying NCR (I haven't forgotten what they did to Vault City!) trying to seize power under the guise of unity and protection, a Machiavellian Mr House, distant and pragmatic, but apparently civic-minded, and then you've got Caesar's Legion, a bunch of slaver psychos playing dress-up.

But when I finally met CL, I fully expected to hear their mindless lines about bringing order to chaos and the rule of might, but they didn't. They said they were destroying and enslaving a wretched town, punishing those who engaged in lusts of the flesh and demean themselves and their corrupt town. CL seem to have a disarming honesty and certainty in their brutal methods, so its entirely possible I could side ith them, on a good character, the same character who blasted away slavers in F3 without a thought, suddenly has the possibility of joining with them. Has anyone else felt a turnabout like this?

I got a bad vibe from the NCR from the start (traditionally dressed soldiers asserting the might of nation-states in a world that has conclusively proven how dangerous they are) but the CL seem positively disarming! I went in planning to shoot every red clad enemy I saw, but left telling them I'd do their work for them.

The Legion rants about lusts of the flesh and the pollution of the body via drugs, but then they [censored] women and turn them into six slaves. Ultimately their appeals to morality and order are exposed as the hypocritical lies that they are. I have no sympathy for the legion, although I pretty much despise the NRC for its elitism and bureaucratic worthlessness.

A post-apocalyptic world needs a paternalistic enlightened despot, basically a philosopher king, to rule and keep order. In short, the only moral choice is to go with Mr. House or replace Mr. House and become the leader via siding with Yes Man.

SPOILERS!!! SPOILERS!!!!

Be warned, you don't quite exactly what you expect when you side with Yes Man. I had an inkling suspicion his program was going to alter and allow him to become something more than just a sycophant after I did all of the leg work for him. Although in all fairness I didn't see the pro-House ending happening as it did. I expected Mr. House to give me a bullet in the head after the job was done since my character was very powerful and well-connected. It is commonly accepted that somebody powerful/resourceful enough to be instrumental in helping bring your plans to fruition and push you into power or help consolidate your power, is powerful/resourceful enough to be instrumental in taking it all away.

Generally those who help push others into power are the first ones removed because the risks associated with leaving them alive are too high. I was expecting a betrayal, of sorts, from Yes Man, and it came much as I expected it. Likewise I was expecting a massive betrayal from Mr. House, but it never came. Mr. House was an honorable and decent man who kept his end of the agreement.

Yeah, they hold the real moral highground what with the brutal torture and the subjugation of women.

Nipton being morally depraved is no excuse to burn them alive.

To the OP.

The factions aren't black and white like that of Fo3. NCR aren't completely good and the Legion isn't completely evil. I personally hate the NCR. There are waaay too many of them. Almost feel like pests. BOS FTW !!

If you choose to take over the strip yourself, what kind of options are available to you when you are the ruler?
