What Feature Trips Your Trigger

1. FO3 + new companion handling stuff

I'm very excited to go get a companion and see what he/she can do and how they are improved and how they handle. I'm talking mostly about the technical aspects of the companion. Because I've played both FO1/FO2 I'm expecting some more interesting conversations, story, etc. with the companions, but with the companions specifically I am curious about what's been done to them and how it's been done.

2. Crafting

Very happy to hear there's a lotta crafting going on. I love that.

I'm looking forward to the new GECK most of all. Even though I know that I'll love the game dearly and will likely play several hundred hours, I'll be in that GECK for several thousand.

All things considered, I'm hoping they fixed or simplified a few features for us:

1. Lipsync - broken to our knowledge in the Fo3 GECK, we've had to use Oblivion's TES CS to do lip sync - hoping that its fixed or we figure it out.

2. LOD - not broken but extremely hard to use for modders, and hugely taxing on PCs to build for the Wasteland.

3. New Dialogue Editor - most anticipated feature, this is going to become my friend. I'll likely write a tutorial for this first.

4. Crafting Editor - like Christmas, as I have no idea on Earth what this will contain, but I envision a vast kitchen with tables and tubs of ingredients by the hundreds or thousands all around. Mmmmm

Meh - I woke up thinking about it.

I'm really excited to see that too! And what is behind the companion wheel. I want to play through first before I go into the new GECK but I don't know if I'll have the willpower. I may sit in front of my computer unable to go into either because I cannot decide what to look at first.

Oh, the joy of having too many fun things to explore!

Edit: It hadn't even occurred to me that they might fix lipsync. That would be wonderful!

I would like to see them keep the decapitations and I'm sure they will, and the epic story lines and DLCs which kept the game going, more moral choices...

Oh I'm right with you on that - The Game and the GECK will be like two Christmas presents that are both equally wonderful, but the lure of the Game will likely win-out for a play-through as well. :) I think I put in another thread that I will last about an hour, maybe two - just long-enough to pop-open the hood and get a peek at the engine, then see how many of the assets transferred from Fo3 (for my mod's transfer to NV) and to wander around in those new editors a bit. After that initial peek, Gravity will win in the end and I'll be off to New Vegas for ... a long time.

I guess it's partly due to old fans being labeled as fossils and stuck in the past, when they (I being one of them) griped at the lack of these now "new" and praised features when Fallout 3 came. :P

Pretty much this. As for us being "trivial" and "condescending", that is how the existing fanbase was addressed by Bethesda going into Fallout 3, and how a lot of us view the changes made to the game.

Things I am looking forward to are:
- ADS (Aim Down Sight)
-Weapon attachments
-hardcoe Mode
-New story mode and content
-Companion system

Does anyone know if there will be attachments such as silencers?

Confirmed- silencers, scopes, laser sights, full auto mods, larger clips and magazines, ammo mods.

I think but can't be for sure - Stock and grip mods, and a few others that I can't remember...

Honestly, I would be excited for this game if there weren't new features. Fallout3 is one of my favorite games ever.

However, hardcoe mode sounds neat. I can't afford a gaming PC, and the one I have is an eight year old Dell whose odd size makes upgrading extremely difficult. I've always been intrigued by things like the Wanderer's Edition mod. hardcoe mode sounds really great, a real challenge.

The improvements upon FO3, such as customizing your weapons, sound really good too.

And the traits, which will provide some character-defining role-playing opportunity, are very intriguing.
