This is the reason i bought on steam :

Retail Copy - To buy it and play it as soon as possible you have to pick a store that has a midnight release, go outside at midnight on a tuesday then head home and start installing it. Depending on the install time and how far it is and the line etc etc it will be a couple hours plus gas money.

Steam - Pre-load the day before and play right at midnight. Bam.

But if you're getting the Collectors Edition you'll have to go pick it up at the store anyway.

Those PC system requirements are pretty much the same as Oblivion and Fallout 3, not that we thought they would be different given that it's graphically the same as FO3!

What if your computer crashes? I would always have a hard copy of everything, be it an assignment or a game...

Fortunately, I'm buying the steam version. So while you filthy disk-users are all weeping at how you won't be able to play NV for weeks, I'll be happily blowing away powder gangers!

Ha! I ordered it by COURIER SERVICE and that beats you all. I get it early in the morning on the release day in my home, while you have to wait until you finish work and then put your gear in rear to the shop

I would personally prefer a disk over a download as my computer tends to dislike me and go crashy on me. The only worry I have is that I have a faulty CD-drive. Sometimes it accepts CD's and DVD's and sometimes all I hear is a 'tack tack' sound and the computer doesn't recognise that there is a CD in the drive. I just hope that is not the case with Fallout:NV otherwhise I'd just die. Anyone else here have that? I have seriously no idea why it's happening as it doesn't happen with all my disks.

Hah, same reason. Plus no need to worry over losing the disc or damaging it.
It's awesome to have the game's box. But, what matters is the game. And it's way easier to just pre-order on steam than having to walk and go to a store and ask a dumb clerk to make your pre-order... blah blah.

As soon as you register your copy of the game to a Steam account you can download it whenever you want. Btw. your last comment was anything but OK.

This is only really an issue if you're impatient. I've been waiting over a year for New Vegas, I can wait a few extra hours.

Fortunately the Gamestop I pre-ordered my copies from has a mid-night release, which is Awesome! I just found this out, even more excited now (I have that week off work). Looks like I won't be sleeping for at least 36-48 hours from Mon-Wed - however long I can hold out. :fallout:

17 days, 13 hours, 24 minutes.

It takes time to replicate the game and print all the boxes, manuals and other stuff!

I don't think people would like us very much if we just shipped games the second they were finished.

i wouldn't hate you at all if u gave me the game in a cheap plastic case w/o a manual and other stuff

I 1337 h4x3d the world, now I have NV. But the way I got it, was the courier I was going to make delivered it to me. I shot him in the head twice, and threw him at a disc, he got svcked in, therefore, fallout happened.

Note: Laws of physics/time are not relevant in the above truth.

They said in the podcast that the map is bigger. I heard that that the map was going to be the same size. I guess it may be about 5-10% bigger maybe?

Doesnt sound like anybody is going to worry about ditching their social life and/or schoolwork when this game hits the stores. I'm finally done with some games and dont have that 'need to play' feeling anymore. Its all going to change again when i get the game. it frigging svcks.

Maybe its just my own fault.

I ALWAYS have the "need to play" feeling, even when I am playing. Heck, I am now counting HOURS untill NV première
