Gamestop midnight openings list

Post » Sat May 14, 2011 3:15 am

YES! Both Gamestops in my area are having a midnight release. I pre-ordered from both - which, in hindsight, wasn't a very good idea.

That is the Port Huron/ Fort Gratiot area. Anyone who is going there should consider carpooling and picking me up, since I live by PHHS, in midtown, and don't want to walk all the way up to the North End. It would be worth your while to have me in your car because it will up the quotient of pretty guys in your vehicle by 1.

I have two Gamestops in my town, they are only about a mile apart (weird, they are just like Starbucks in that regard)

Well, one of them is in a Mall, that closes at 9PM, but they have a Midnight Release Party. Has anyone else been to a Gamestop in a Mall for a Midnight Release?

I am kinda surprised. I live in a small town with a population of around 6500 people, and even my local gamestop is having a midnight release.

What are you surprised about, that your town of 6,500 has a Gamestop or that they will have a Midnight Release event?

Sorry, I could not resist. :D

Hmm, I knew my local Gamestop was having one but I didn't know that the Gamestops would be opening around 10 pm, thanks for the link. I intend to go a bit earlier now and see if I can meet any fellow Fallout enthusiasts. Would be nice to talk about Fallout lore with some real life people. Of course it could also turn out that it'll be full of nothing but little kids with their moms waiting to get the game for them. >.>

My dada is taking me! Is there a problem? :)

Nope, But I guess that'll be good, because then you have a selection of a bunch of places to eat and look around before the Party.
I'll just walk over to Andys next to my gamestop and get a Philly cheesesteak to go.... my mouth is watering now.

I personally haven't but my friend did when the GS in his mall had a midnight release of Dead Rising 2. He pretty much just said being in a huge mall that late at night with nobody around except the Gamestop gave him a fairly creeped out feeling.

Mine is having a midnight release, so I'm probably going to go. I usually don't go to these, but I moved an appointment past the 19th so I can have the night to play this. Then wake up at 5pm and do it all over again.

According to Steam at this exact moment, New Vegas is poised to unlock at around 12PM next Tuesday. I think it'd be nice to get some clarification on this so PC users don't go out and purchase the game, just to earn the privilege of staring at the box for twelve hours or so.

About this midnight release thing... Does the retail release unlock on steam at midnight? Because if not, a lot of people are going to be very irritated what with buying games they can't play until 12 PM PDT.

Yeah, I'm hoping they say something soon about that. I did got to a midnight release for Fallout 3, but right now I'm not sure its worth it since I'm going the PC route. Until they clarify the Steam unlock, it seems rather pointless to pick up the game early. On the other hand, I can't believe they'd force PC users to wait until the next day if they know GameStop will be selling the PC version starting at midnight.

Now I'm just IRATE. I called my local Gamestop on the off chance that I'd be able to pick up a second CE, not only are they only getting enough to only fill pre-orders, they put me down for the regular version when I pre-ordered. Tough luck was all the response I got from the manager, and I was even pretty polite about it.

I'm worried about calling the gamestop thats in the mall(where i pre-ordered mine). I don't want to look stupid if they aren't having a midnight release, well thats panic disorder for ya i suppose.

did you check Gamestops website?

And, the last time I called Gamestop asking about a Midnight release that they were in fact not having, they were very nice to me about it.

Lets keep this thread to posts about Midnight Release Events at Gamestop, or any other store/chain that offers these.

Discussions about age appropriateness for this game or others is for another thread in another section of the forums.
