I got bored :(

i started playing as a badass character just wanting the bad karma and wanting to join the caesars legion.i soon found that most of the areas were ncr and it ruined my game as everybody was shooting me.i reached lvl 10 but im gonna start all over again as there are way more quests if you play as ncr.Mainly it is as most people here say.If you want to make the game interesting for you role-play

Edit:I too think that the fallout 3 atmosphere was much more interesting and you were absorbed in it.You saw devastation everywhere and it looked like there was no hope.I wish the fallout 4 is about the east coast again or a big city like la or chicago.something like that but with all the new things obsidian added

Just wondering: how can anyone find this game hard, if they've got Boone as a companion? He's just about broke the game for me. I mean, he can't take on a pack of Deathclaws, but everything else has a case of spontaneous head explosion at 50 paces while I'm still fumbling with one of my 50 Med-Xs. This is on Hard/HC.

If there's one thing that makes a player bored, it's a lack of challenge. I don't NEED any of my crap cos Booney does EVERYTHING better. I'm hardly gonna dump him to make things more interesting, I don't like player-made constraints like that. But yeah- you guys getting pasted, do you have Boone?

I think this is the problem actually. I think this is the reason i have lost a bit of interest. I am lvl 26 and i dont really feel there is a challenge or that i need the stuff i find. It would be really more fun to explore and loot if you really needed the stuff and it feelt rewarding. No ememies are a threat except Deathclaws that almost feel a bit owerpowered, especially if you compare them to everything else. The mission where you have to clear out the mining place from Deahclaws and Deathclaw Mother and Alpha was insanly much harder then anything else in the game by miles and i think i spent up about 50% of all the ammunition i have collected on that 1 hour part compared to the other 40+ hours. Thats a bit unbalanced..

Side with a different faction, or even make a completely different build.

Wow, let me make this simple. Im not saying I don't like the better parts of FNV. But people keep defending some of the mistakes that were made and I can't understand why.

1) Do you guys like the fact they removed most of the unique crafted weapons?
2) In Fallout 3, they didn't have 5% of the invisible walls like in FNV. Do you like invisible walls?
3) Do you like the lack of underground exploring?
4) Do you think having all of the buildings out in the waist land locked? Ok lets say 80% of them?
5) Is it a bad idea to have Blueprints that you can actually view in inventory to see what materials you need before you go to the bench?
6) Would it be a good idea to use a stove or BBQ as well as a camp fire with no flames?
7) As for a Marked location, should it have more than a dead [censored] brahman?
8) The armor variants from Fallout were awsome. So its a bad idea to have a bunch more armor styles?
9) Places like the Museum's were attempted in FNV, but they were poorly done. Yes I would like more of them to exist.... So for the mojave this is not period or geographically in correct?
10) Since when is it not a major aspect of the Fallout series to have a large exploration facet?
11) Again when is it not a major part to find buildings/vaults and dungeons a major part of this type of RPG?

So that is all I have been saying... If you dont agree on the issues I want to see come back in the next installment, thats cool. I was just giving my opinion of n the game.

But yeah.. on an ending note, it is a fact, this will not compare in replay status compared to FO3. Send me a note and I will make a small side bet with ya if you would like.
Sorry for spaming this post on a couple different topics, but this is my last post and I seem to be getting the same response from the FAN BOY'S

This is absolutely true.
Boone is terrific and he is the worst companion to keep with you, because you'll never have to shoot a single bullet. I realized this was the problem too and started over from the beginning.

Anyone who says there isn't enough to explore obviously hasn't been exploring.

I haven't seen anyone like that on these boards.

What many of us ARE saying is that boarded-up buildings, empty containers and invisible walls do not scratch our explorer's itch.

To repeat: I've encounter nothing yet in NEW VEGAS as wonderfully loopy as the Gold Ribbon Grocer - note that I picked a location that Beth created just for the frak of it; it contains no story or NPC or decent loot. It's just there for the player to have a laugh.

- Level 16
- I don't meta-game: I pick perks and traits according to a) does it fit my Sniper/Sneak character and b)does it sound like fun/different from other games on the market.
- Trying both and failing: quests send me to areas where I get turned to paste in 10 seconds. Wandering around gets me killed even faster.
- "What is that? Let's go see!" "Who is that? Let's talk to them!" everything else is answered by my character build
- Level 16, 25 or so hours.

So you like me, Sniper/Sneak character. I did that, and then started over again. I still act like a sniper/sneak character, but I also am training to be either a Melee or unamred character. Both at 20 right now, so depending what I find, I will use one or the other or maybe both, depends my fancy how the game goes, to be my close combat attacks. Right now I sneak and snipe. When I fail that and the enemies are close to me, I take out my trusty cleaver out to finish them off hopefully. I am enjoying close combat a bit more now than I did with sniping right now. Maybe because I sniped too much in Fallout 3, it's a bit stale for me. Have you considered close combat as a back up when they are close by?

I know what you mean about getting pasted. I am running away like a chicken all the time. Yes it gets hard. My problem is I am not specializing in a certian combat, say guns because I am concentrating on close combat. When I do close combat in my skills, I keep shooting poorly all the time. I guess I am not playing the game properly but I am having fun though.

I know about wandering around. I keep dieing as well.

Well if you are bored with the game, take a break from it. I had this with Oblivion when it came out. I wouldn't touch it for a month. Then I tried it, and then something "clicked" and I loved it. So take a break from the game. A week, 2 weeks or a month. Come back after wards and try it then. Hopefully you will find it fun after wards. If not, maybe the game just dosen't click for you.

Well if you are bored with the game, take a break from it.

Thanks for the response.

It won't be a break, it will be a gift to someone else. I've got many, many, many other things (some of which are AMNESIA, RE5 and METRO 2033; most of which are not games) calling for my time. Heck, I've not done half of NEHRIM yet. I have a dozen books on the shelves. BluRays unwatched. Plus I need to, you know, work for a living.

I just feel stupid for one too many times trusting studios I had a lot of respect for. Enough respect to buy, sight unseen, MORROWIND Collector's Ed, KNIGHT OF THE OLD REPUBLIC 2, OBLIVION Collector's Ed, FALLOUT3 collectors Ed + special hardcover guide, and all the DLCs. It's not really the money either (though I felt confident enough to get the whole kit and kaboodle again) - it's the feeling of sinking ever more time into something on not much more than hope that it will get more interesting if I stick to it. I compared it to my last girlfriend, she of the event horizon for a heart.

Vault 22. That was *terrific*. I'll plod on, hoping for more of that and less of all the rest, for now.
