I already liked country music. In fact I love it :)

I would never figured that out by looking at your name

I can't argue with Obsidian's song choices, they certainly fit the theme of the game but I have to admit they don't do anything for me. My wife's really enjoyed the songs though.

I never liked country music, and I still don't. That said, NV's soundtrack fits with the game nicely, and they have a decent set of music that I enjoy listening to. However, I'm not going to go out and buy any.

TBH I could tolerate the country music when I passed those 'country' stationed radios except that one song where the guy sounds like he's yodelling. But to be honest, I prefer the upbeat and crooner songs that played on GNR and NVR

You must be referring to "http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=GXcOv2FIxe8." Couldn't agree more about that one. ;)

I think this is it. Anytime I passed a radio and heard that, I'd shut it off. It's one of those 'this is literally hurting my ears' moments. :banghead:

I think the country music is a bit of a problem for the atmosphere of the game, in Fallout 3 jazz was an all knew thing to almost every player, of course it was known, but very few regularly listen to it. Unlike country, jazz is a nearly extinct taste from a dead era, and that is what added that extra sensation of mystery and adventure to the world of Fallout 3, wheras country is, especially in america, a much wider knwon and common style, which brings the world closer to our time and might tighten the gap between fallout and reality, thus taking away some of the strangeness of the universe. Otherwise this a different location in the fallout world, with it's own cultural identity and specific historic traits and the fallout team might have thought themselves compelled to remain original, maybe it is a good thing and we just have to get used to it, but on the other side i wouldn't have mind if they had compiled an equally magnificent soundtrack of jazz as they did with Fallout 3.

How could I forget Hank? Love that song :goodjob:

Yes...I think they should have used it in the game, it'd be perfect hearing that while walking down a road from town to town.

Old timey Country Western music like my parents and grandparents listened to is fine, so I don't really mind the stuff in the game. There isn't nearly enough variety though - they did a much better job in FO3 with the selection.

Current "New Country" svcks. Nothing more that commercialized country-fried pop and its horrible.

There is plenty of good old country and country gospel that fits perfectly in FO: NV.
