Seriously the DLC won't be available for PC?

Post » Sun Mar 06, 2011 2:49 pm

really devoted fan that was trully a nice quote by one of the nicest and most beloved ppl in the world.Tbh go read up on the reality of what he offered the south before **** hit the fan lol.Victors are always the heroes and the conquered always the villians .Some times this isnt but for what history teaches us ppl love to point the finger.

I meant that as more of a general logic idea, and not specifically to the times of Abraham (Lincoln). In other words, there are situations today that follow the wolf/shepherd/sheep/liberty logic he used for slavery. But yeah, it didn't apply so well to the whole story of the time.

Pretty strange that the majority of the playerbase are being cut out on the DLC.

I think it's crazy how many of these threads popped up the moment an exclusive DLC deal was announced.

I mean, really... what? Weren't half you folks the same ones who were... just the other day... on -another- thread COMPLAINING about how much you hate DLC and what a rip-off it would be if they unlocked content intended to be in the original game, and all that jazz?

Wasn't that this very same forum?

What the hell happened?

Suddenly everyone is all concerned they're going to get one-upped?

Really, now? This is precisely WHY they announced that the DLC was going to be exclusive... and every single one of you who gets all hyped up about either getting ripped off or getting your 'exclusive' DLC is doing nothing other than playing RIGHT into the hands of the marketing department. Anyone with half a brain knows that unless the DLC is trivial and meaningless, it's only going to stay XBOX exclusive for just as long as it takes New Vegas to milk every last penny out of the console users.

Then, with all you folks in a fury over being 'left out'... SURPRISE! They'll magically change their tune... and sell MILLIONS more dollars worth of DLC content, where-as before... all you folks would have been saying: "DLC? Where the hell's my PATCH!?"

Ah, marketing. Sometimes I'm glad I paid attention in Business and Marketing Principles.

Just a shame I can't find a damn job doing that right now.

Everyone just wants to make a big deal out of everything. Eventually they will put the DLC into the PC.
Off topic In my opinion DLC's price is not worth the amt we will pay. I believe they should make an EXPANSION.

Like stated above it all about money Microsoft has paid for it to be exclusive to the Xbox (the exact conditions of this deal is unknown). This means that Microsoft can make more money from Xbox sells (a % of the cash from everything that sells for the Xbox goes to Microsoft, the same applies to the other consoles and their manufactures) and Bethesda get some extra money as well. Looking at the comparitive prices of PC and Console games, console game prices are ~25%-50% more expensive (RRP) the only reason for this is the owners Microsoft, Sony etc cut of the sells.

Chill, probably someone will recreate it in the GECK or something. Besides, I wouldn't be surprised if it was some piece of crap DLC like most DLC's nowadays.

360 exclusive DLC? It'll svck for sure. Just look at all the Fallout 3's DLCs, only one is a must have the rest are basically flavor. It'll take the PC's mods over the over priced DLCs any day of the week.

It sure isn't sounding like the first one will be for PC. Xbox exclusive is what the announcement reads.

I personally am not bothered overly much about it as I have still a lot of the game to play and some interesting mods to try out. We've got some awesome modders around here. It's just business I suppose.

Ya i'm kinda irked myself at these "exclusivity" things and really think it needs to be limited to where a console gets it "first" then on the official release date everyone gets it. Wouldn't mind it if people got it 1 month after release, but having to wait up to 6 to 8months before we get it is a little asinine. Only time content should be exclusive to me is if a company owns it and pays for it 100% like Microsoft and the Halo series.

O well I guess this will give me time to consider mods since I never investigated them before with FO3. Maybe I can make my weight + schematics mod incorporating stuff from FO3 into NV.

Two words. Horse Armor.

I also believe that the modding community will make close approximations to official DLC if not better. I think they will release DLC through Steam, the mechanism is there and has to be better than that Windows Live BS we had to put up with in FO3.

I would trade a few DLCs for the ability to have mods, so you're really not gonna get a whole lot of sympathy.
