DLC Update

A DLC... create fast, compress, tighten, simplify, compress again and do your best - then give a quick summary of it. My guess. :P

They should of just worded it better.

I'd just say you're being too hasty in jumping on the "I'm going to pretend I'm a video game purist an bash everything new" bandwagon.

Remember good old days when developers would expand the entire game in every way when writing an add-on? Now they just add a couple of items, one new area, don't change anything at all in the base content and push it to the market. That's lazy and in the end results with games being crappier than they could be if they took a more thorough approach in their add-on making.

Also, you are misunderstanding my judgement here a bit. I see it as a way to their redemption actually. Did they sell their souls and fan base to MS for money? Yes, they have. But at least the add-on they made as mercenaries for a corporation is sh*tty discouraging such moves in the future. Meaning there still might be a spark of decency in developers. ;-) I see what they've posted as game makers standing up to the corporate who framed them into this whole mess.

And why does the first part of the summary sound like mediocre fan-fiction?

Easy there, no need to be so insulting...

...toward the authors of mediocre fanfic, that is.

At least they could probably come up with something more original than a tightly-locked casino that nobody has entered in years and years and years- where have we heard that one before, by the way? I'm sure somebody has done a storyline like that in the last 5 years...er...weeks.

The good 'ol days for me were when I didn't know what an expansion pack was and an addon just wasn't a word.

Some of my favorite sequels had zero changes in graphics and just added tons of new things. Back then you could get away with doing stuff like Doom 2 and Fallout 2. Even "expansion packs" were pretty much the same thing with added levels and a few new sprites i.e. Warcraft 2: Beyond the Dark Portal and Command & Conquer: Red Alert: Aftermath/Counterstrike.

I could honestly care so much less about graphics as long as I get to play a new story and get a few new things. And who are you to say that Bethesda "sold their souls"? It's very crass to think that none of the developers have any love for creating things anymore. It's crass, cynical, and narrow-minded. It's also very easy to label a developer as having sold out without actually considering the business aspects, especially when you're dealing with a company that post TES II, suddenly had a large fan base to satisfy.

Honestly, what do you want? A return to the days when a couple of guys could code something in a garage? Like it or not, games have evolved, and with evolution (or in Fallout's case Forced Evolution) comes new appendages, mainly a corporate arm. If you're displeased with the direction Fallout took, there are plenty of indie games available over Steam that you can sink you teeth into.

It's also very true.

Fanboyism like yours excusing them for pulling stuff like that will only encourage more of such nonsense in the future. Think long-term, if they see noone is really against it, they will head that direction. When they read they've gone one bridge too far 10, 100 and 1000 times, it'll at least make them hesitate when next stupid PLATFORM X exclusive is planned.

PS3 users are the only ones who should be complaining here. PC have community mods, some which are better than DLC anyway, and xbox will have the DLC.

I'm sorry, but Bethesda isn't an evil monster that's going to come to destroy everything good in life, as you would like to think. And I'm so very sorry for defending a game I like. God forbid I don't hate everything in the present and possess a delusional view of the past where everything is bright, shiny, perfect, and glitch free.

Furthermore, no one's forcing you to play video games.

Are you kidding me? You're talking about a video game company as if it's a corrupt government that needs to be overthrown. I suggest you take a chill pill (Valium), stop [censored]ing for the sake of [censored]ing (because let's be honest, the voice of a few people won't change the minds of the devs), and enjoy the games for what they are, or you can swear off the series, stop [censored]ing, and go back to playing the original games. I'm playing NV and Fallout 2 simultaneously, and I love them both.

It's just DLC. It svcks, but not buying TES V, which is likely to be the largest game of modern gaming, over unequal DLC is a bit irrational, don't you think?

This is exactly why I play the Xbox 360. I can always count on Microsoft to flaunt their cash and get us dlc first. But on a side note, it really is dumb how the PC users especially are getting treated like their at the bottom of the food chain. >.<

PC users can at least take solace in the fact that they'll get a better interface and 10x more game play through mods.

Right. Well, except in WoW, when a bunch of whiny prats [censored]ed to Blizzard that the one-time zombie invasion was ruining their good time and Blizzard actually listened, ensuring that no more fun events like that would ever come to pass.

Never say that developers don't listen to their customers. They do; you just have to be loud enough and annoying enough to be heard. PC and PS3 users need to stop whispering their displeasure and start yelling it instead.

Did that event involve Microsofts money?

Yeah, well those whiny prats were one of the primary reasons I quit WoW.

And I loved the zombie invasion. I teamed up with a bunch of low level mates and we had a blast fighting zombies out of the Undercity and then taking down Necropolises in the Plaguelands, Silithis, and all those other cool, Old World places no one ever went anymore. I was really disheartened when I heard blizz wasn't going to do it again.

I guess it depends on the company when it comes to how much they listen to their customers.

Take the devs behind Dead Rising. Not only did they not fix the most annoying parts of the first game, but they added onto them, adding new levels of frustration to the game. You can tell they didn't listen to the criticism.

Money talks louder than yall yellin, jus so you kno. microsoft will pay their way for the top spot in gamein, but who can blame them its a business (im not sayin its right, but its jus somethin thats goin to happen). plus the increase in price for xbox live gold was for the sole purpose to get exclusives like this, so tech were payin to get it earlier ourselves (xbox players).

On topic thanx for postin the info, sounds intrestin but i rather have the bugs fixed.....

Sorry, they are too busy on their merc job to fix the bugs for you. Keep playing a broken game. This will be new company strategy because you and many others weren't vocal enough about how much you don't like it but rather looked for silly excuses developers can use. So you can as well get used to it. And pray TES5 will first come to your console rather than something else as an exclusive. ;-)

TES5 would be on xbox before it would be exclusive to ps3 ;-). and btw FONV is made by obsidian which are known for makin unfinished/unpolished games.

PC users can at least take solace in the fact that they'll get a better interface and 10x more game play can make their own damn interface and better gameplay if they want'em through mods 'cause if Oblivion and Fallout 3 are any indication, the devs aren't gonna waste a minute that could be spent catering to consoles on PC nonsense.

Fixed that for ya.

Hmm. 'Ghost People' appear to be heavily inspired by Snorks. Almost to the point of plagiarism. So if you don't own a console, just go and buy S.T.A.L.K.E.R and bathe in the glow of its PC exclusivity.
