The Industry gets full sale price, and Piracy is dissuaded. Bethesda don't have to worry about the logisisics and all of the costs in content/patch delivery saving them money as Steam handle all of that in a data centre that shares costs with other games developers and publishers cutting costs for all. Exactly how it works now.
(Remember when its unsteammed, Bethesda have to find another way of getting patches and DLC to you. This means they have to get some servers and bandwith that is just going to sit idle sometimes (such as when theres no new patch or DLC), whereas when its outsourced to a platform like steam, that bandwith and capacity can be used to deliver other products in quiet time)
Bethesda also get to save money not having to pay SecurROM.
(I'm sorry, the industry has no right to expect us to buy games multiple times. This isnt supporting the industry at all).
