I never said what they were doing was decent and/or legal. I just said that there wasn't any evidence that what they are doing is even in the same realm as someone suffering from ASPD or conduct disorder. And ASPD / conduct disorder is not about a level of maturity - it is about consistent behavior that ignores the rights of others (plus some other stipulations, such as an inability to plan for the future and physical aggressiveness).
Simply because someone does something you don't like and/or is against a particular law doesn't mean they have a mental disorder. They are acting in an anti-social manner, yes, but, again, that isn't just qualification to diagnose them with any mental disorder.
Yeah. And its pretty insulting to assume that every criminal (at least the ones making news) have a mental illness/disorder. The fact is, the vast majority of people suffering from such conditions aren't dangerous, and few are violent. For example, if even half the people in the USA with schizophrenia or bipolar type two (since they are well known and well misunderstood) were significantly dangerous, that'd be about three million people, or close to half of those on probation, in jail or prison (under three million of the total), or on parole.
So it is grossly unfair to -with no or little supporting evidence, and certainly no in-person interviewing- lump criminals in with people who are simply unwell (and often struggling to get by in a world which is still largely ignorant about matters of mental health).
