Patrick Troughton was before my time; I remember watching a few re-runs on satellite telly back in the '90s and they always seemed a bit bizarre and psychotic for my tastes...
The Cyberman episode was pretty cool
I love the new episode's under Steven Moffat I prefer his writing to Davies any day but that episode wasn't as good as some of them, The one with the pirates was definately the worst this series but Let's kill hitler was definately not as good as Day of the moon or some of the other episodes.
I came into Doctot Who at Christopher Eccleston I thought David Tennant was an improvement but then he got boring so I was glad when Matt Smith took over, I've looked back on a few of the old doctors and I'd definately say that William Hartnell was the most alien, the Doctor has become less Alien as the series went on, then became more so for eight and nine. That does seam weird though considering to begin with at least the doctor wasn't meant to seam alien just eccentric.

I found Hartnell to be less alien, just more of an [censored].
He isn't ever trying to help anyone, he's just out for himself.
