Back in my day, they used to someone out to us, and we'd be the wood. Damn whipper snappers these days.

In my day, you were lucky to get to the ripe old age of six! :grad:

If you crawl like a bird on its belly to get your Xbox back, then she will have learned how to control you. And you will never be able to have a disgustingly messy and depressing room again!

You know the mission, and what is at stake. I have come to trust you with my life -- but I have also heard murmurs of discontent. I share your concerns. We are trained for having a messy room; we would be legends, but pics or it didn't happen. Glory on the internet is not our way. Think of our heroes; Mike's brother the stoner, who lost his hamster in a pile of laundry and never saw it again. Or Dirty Jake, who kept his mom at bay with the stink of rotting banana skins. These giants do not seem to give us solace here, but they are not all that we are. Before the Xbox, there was the Nintendo DS. Before Skyrim, there were Transformer toys!
Our allowance was taken away, but we held the line!
Our little sister's friends made fun of the smell, but we held the line!
Our messy rooms will stop our moms; in the battle today, we will hold the line!”

My 360 broke. I'd rather have had it taken for a few days.

Must be a week grounding, you're still using your computer. If you ask me, your mom need to learn a thing or two about punishing you.

I used to lose all tech privilages that could be used to have fun or communicate with others...Times they are a changing.
OP has a computer still by the looks of it, why not play some game online or read up on something interesting to pass the time, who knows maybe you'll evenget over the Skyrim is my sole purpose in life phase that everyone seems to have.

Well, it's his fault for having a dirty room. My room is as clean as a gold toothpick. When a few pieces of clothes get thrown around on the floor, I take less than 2 minutes to pick it up and hang it. So, unless he has a mansion for a room, there's not really an excuse for not cleaning it up... unless his arms/hands are broken or something like that.

Teenage boys are well known for their cleanliness, after all.

I was grounded because my room was pretty messy not gonna lie and she told me to clean it before I drove to a nearby town (4 Hour Drive) to see a concert. I came back and my xbox was gone. Pretty juvenile I know but she still thinks im 9...
Sounds reasonable to me, next time clean your room.
It would be funny if his mom took the Skyrim game too.
Next time she might not just take the xbox away, she might actually play your game, deliberately screw up your questline, get your character arrested, sell all your loot for 52 gold, eat all your sweetcakes, save the game, and then delete all of your previous saves. Because that is what I would do. :D

The point of getting grounded is punishment. Take it like a man (even if you're a woman), and meditate on whatever failure as a person led you to this punishment.

This. Getting grounded svcks, but that's the point. Your mom's trying to teach you responsibility for things like, y'know, keeping your living space clean and doing chores when asked.

...So go clean your room. :P

Even the sweetrolls? That's not punishment, that's just cruel... :cold:

Since the OP is now happily reunited with his console, I'll put this topic to bed.
