Money is always pointless, at least for me, in single player games.

The only time I struggle for money is if it is an MMO.

...And real life.

Couple of things, if you are frustrated by the lack of gold on merchants, speck into Speech jesus it makes so much more money simply because it saves time and time=money.

Also, people who are hoarding gold pointlessly are obviously low levels who dont spend any money on trainers for easy leveling of off-specced skills.

Small hint for the people having trouble with money, if you happen to get a weapon wich has an enchant for paralise, enchat your weapons with it before selling it, even enchating it with petty jewels will sell for a good ammout ( i sold a pickaxe for 237 gold that way).

This amount of gold is a good thing, if you find merchants are lagging behind money wise then get the perk to invest in them and the one to increase their money.
Also in future dlc you may need that money?

I'm lvl 33 and have around 130k. There's absolutely nothing in this game worth buying. This is from selling potions, weapons, and apparel. I keep all of my alchemy ingredients in my house, along with everything I find for crafting. There is nothing in the game to spend money on so my wealth is only going to keep increasing.

I'm level 21, and I have about 19,000gp. I don't understand why people struggle to make money. I use Smithing and Alchemy, and that combination is a massive cash cow. Coupled with dungeon loot, I literally cannot stop making money.

Ever since the DB finale I've been unable to run out of gold, it's like that was the catalyst and now I'm set for life. I like it, makes sense when you think about what you had to acomplish.

I rarely purchase anything. I don't collect much from my adventuring either, now that my smithing is at 100 and I don't need to grab ALL THE PELTS. I'll hide a good gold idea, for those who haven't stumbled across it, but this is on the lighter side of spoilers:
Spoiler
I could use transmute and make a fortune if I ever found a need for gold though.

Cant say ive had too much problem with cash - so far im lvl 36 with about 80k and have fully decked out houses in riften, markarth, solitude and whiterun. Would have windhelm too but the steward says I need to wait to buy it due to some unplessentness happening to it.

Level 18 with 47,000 Gold. I'm working on the 100k achievement. I make it by Alching and Enchanting random bandit weapons I find in dungeons. I don't think it's "too easy" since a ton of the houses are worth a lot as well as some other things, but then again I don't buy much either so I would guess you're right to an extent. I don't mind it though. I love the cash flow.

I am playing a sort of mixed character. I am a Mage but I use the bow when I can. I use a sword up close. And I raise the dead a lot. I think I have WAY too many potions and poisons in my inventory. I am going to take someone's advice and sell them to a vendor. I have a lot of redundants. I just need some poisons, some fortifies, some resist, and some regenerates. I typically have around 6000 and barely any room to carry any weapons. Probably because of the potions.

You obviously never played Morrowind, where you could get 1,000 gold before you even left the census building - and could probably get 20,000 just in Seyda Neen.
