Next Bethesda Game...

Post » Sat Dec 17, 2011 12:14 am

The first one counts, the other two are just other people's opinions of the game and should count for nothing.

Regardless, see you in January, I suppose.

I probably will :) I also plan to port my mods to Skyrim so.. I just can't wait for the modding communiyt to enrich the game (but I hate over the top mods).

How the hell do you know what the mistakes of Skyrim are without even having played it?

LOL...

I have been reading the posts on this forum lately. Beyond the general consensus that people are unhappy/disappointed with the game and its apparent lack of content and compelling game play, people have lost confidence in Bethesda as a company and and appear to no longer have consumer confidence in their product. Without reading between the lines, it appears that this has happened to Bethie by their own doing. I mean, there have been posts which outright accuse the company of lying, baiting and switching, and even misrepresenting Skyrim. I wonder has this sentiment hurt Bethesda in any way and furthermore will the result of this be seen in coming titles in the future near and far? For example, based on my last experience in FONV and Skyrim, it is doubtful that I will purchase the next installment of Fallout. Does anyone else feel this way about the games to come out next from Bethesda?

Lets clear some things up. Skyrim is going to be game of the year, and if their was an award game of the decade it would win that too. Despite the completely normal forum activities you'll find in any other game forum, such as the people voicing their concerns like they represent a huge group of people (which isn't even close to reality)

In most cases, the negative comments from people can be summed up as the vocal minority (for almost all successful games) however in this case they happen to be the smallest minority you can possibly find.

The game has made $650 MILLION so far, and it's barely one month old. It will break the billion dollar mark before the year is out, a spot on a very short list. Here is an article from PC gamer today. http://www.pcgamer.com/2011/12/16/skyrim-officially-becomes-fastest-selling-title-in-steams-history/

And just to be clear, I consider myself part of the vocal minority. I see flaws such as the cumbersome UI as well as a skill system that could have done better. But I'm not as diluted to think that I some how represent a large group of people lol...When you make a post like the OP did, you have to wonder how old he is and how much experience he has in this field or hobby or what ever you want to call it.

Such a stupid thread though, should definitely be deleted by mods and the user be slapped on the wrists for his inane rambling.

For me Skyrim is the best game I've played in the last 10 years and if Bethesda continue to develop open world RPGs of this quality with this much content and immersion then I will be buying every single game for the foreseeable future!

I will probably buy AFTER it's been totally patched! I will NEVER buy on release and before reading reviews AND the forums to see what kind of problems come up. Bottom line...I will buy it pre-owned and after patches.

Well, depends on my son :) I got Skyrim because he wanted it. I was content (still) playing Witcher 2, and doing my never-ending Oblivion mod.
There are 2 games CDProjecktRed is supposed to be working on, non-Witcher related. Very interested in getting those.

If its Fallout 4 - YEAHHHHH :D
Anyway you only hear about all this bad stuff because they are the only ones sad enough to come on and complain about it while the vast majority of happy content players are still enjoying the game. When I see someone complain I

I would buy it under two circumstances.
  • A year has passed since release. allowing for developers to actually finish the game and have it patched properly.
  • Bethesda signs an open letter not to finish support with a poison patch like was done with Fallout: NV
