This is seriously messed-up stuff. You're letting things slip here; it's beginning to look as though your crusade against Rage has absolutely nothing to do with Rage itself (did you ever even play it? You claim to have done so but I don't recall anything else you've said to support that claim) but is solely coming from a dislike of other events inside the id camp over the past few years. In summary it:'s "id sacked Adrian Carmack, sold to Zenimax and did simultaneous console releases of their game, so therefore I'm going to hate their game".
Seriously messed up stuff ... LOL. You need to get a life dood.
You showed up here when the game came out. You were not part of the fairly long discussion that occured before the game came out. I presented my reasons as to why I thought it would svck in quite some detail. Go read, I am not going to repeat myself for the likes of you. I was very close in my predictions.
It's the game stupid. I could care less about what happened to Adrian and the move to Zenimax, a company I rather like.
You just called me a liar and claimed I have not played the game. That is funny. You are getting desperate or something I guess.
"It's likely they will produce some more console shooters" and it wouldn't surprise you to see them leaving the PC space? Really? Sorry but you're just making things up now. Why don't you try squaring that with statements from id that the focus on consoles with Rage was a mistake and they won't do that again?
All predictions are speculation. I have no idea what they will do. The fact that they have hidden from us and told us effectively nothing since the game came out does leads me to suspect "loss of face" is real and important at id. That is what makes me think they may possibly not attempt PC again. It's a stretch I know.
It's OK to not like Rage, but at least try to have some real reasons not to instead of a bunch of prejudice coming from other factors and a whole heap of fabricated crap.
Very kind of you to afford the same courtesy you demand in your sig.
You love the game to a point I suspect psychological problems. You appear in several forums and spend lots of time forming, I must admit well written, long diatribes against "the haters" whom you claim are the reason the game has done badly. You have invested a lot of time in id's defense.
The game is a simple run and gun shooter with a rather pretty environment and good to excellent mechanics. That is not enough to make a good game and they did not. The reception, apart from the hardware problems that did not bother me to any extent, was not enthusiastic. The fact that you have very little choice in your actions and path are enough to conjure the COD anology which amazingly Carmack said he admired. I don't play those kind of games because I do not like them.
