I see this argument all the time, and simply, it's a bad one.
Games have been played by millions of people for years. Decades. Popularity in video games is not some new thing.
He was implying that Morrowind sold very bad.
4 Million in the early 2000′s isnt bad.
Do you seriously think that the amount of people which play computer games has not significantly increased in the last decade ?
I live in Germany and back then it wasnt exactly uncommon, but nowadays pretty much everyone within a certain age range plays computer games.
Leave alone the countrys where they werent even released at that time.
I only know that the amount of PC games sold has increased by a large margin every year in the last decade,
but I highly doubt console sales where in a recession during that time and countered that developement...
