Merchants who sold arms and armor in accordance to your level. You know being an archer and having to run to city to city just to pray to the nine divines you get at least 100 arrows, svcks. Sure, sell 1k in iron arrows, now where is the 1k in ebony? And BTW I did not realize "The Drunken Huntsman" was a store until my second time playing through the game
A merchant with a poor amount of cash makes it hard to sell everything. Ok, in Oblivion the merchant’s cash was not very good, but at least you could sell everything without having to make six different trips to other cities to sell stuff. One merchant I ran across had 76 gold on her . Oh sure you could level up speech, put points in useless b.s to get to the investment or the 1k in gold for all merchants.
However, by the time you can throw a few points away, you are trying just to get another level since it slows down past 52 (at least for me it has). I think merchants should have a limited number of gold, but it should be reasonable and the player should not be forced to get the merchants more money just to sell items.
Most of the cities svck aside from Solitude and Whiterun. The rest of the cities do not have good stores and the stores they do have, most sell junk and the merchants have very little money. Oh, do not get me wrong Markarth is amazing visually but merchant wise, it is just terrible. Then you have places like Dawnstar and Winterhold, I think the DEVs fell asleep while creating these places. Hardly cities at all there more like a wilderness encampments. Either make a city to accommodate all types of shops or do not bother making it at all. At least the cities in Oblivion were cities. Bruma and Bravil were not the most pretty to look at but at least when you stepped in you knew this was a city and not a half torn down homes with an excuse “The Sea swallowed the city.” Lazy, lazy, lazy.
You are too obsessed with loot. I never fast travel, only pick up very light loot (nothing over 4 weight), and I quickly amass more gold than I could possibly use. Stop trying to sell everything and the kitchen sink you come across and enjoy the game.
The Guards, OK, the guards in Oblivion were annoying but at least they were not "labeled" dumb and lazy. Someone is going to commit a crime, the guards in Oblivion would be quick to attempt an arrest on the person, and in Skyrim you cannot even report them. They just go on about how they use to be an adventure but took an arrow to the knee.
The guards are quick to react in my game. Don't know what you're talking about.
Not enough baddies in this game, yep I said it. There is not and if you are going to sit there and classify them one by one because of the name difference, not going to fly with me. Out in the wilderness of Cyrodil you have no idea what you were going to run into, “Oh crap it’s a group of Ogres” or “Oh bloody hell Minotaur’s.” In Skyrim, its wolves, wolves, oh and look mudcrabs for a change of pace. Deer, Elk, Giants and Mammoths do not count since they only will attack you if you get too close or piss them off. I want to have some excitement in my travels. Being attacked by a dragon is cool the first time but after that, it is just so annoying. Yeah-real fun being attacked by bears every three steps!
Wolves (and ice wolves), mudcrabs, bears, sabre cats, trolls, bandits, necromancers, spriggans and possibly more I'm forgetting about. Again, don't know what you're talking about.
Magic svcks in this game. Even my husband has said this too me numerous times. All the fun spells are gone, no more walking on water, no more unlocking chests with the wave of your hand. Ok, maybe they took them out because of the shouts. However, even if that is the reason, I still miss the fun spells because they allowed you to do some wacky things. In addition, what happened to making your own spells? That was an awesome part, you felt like a mage. It’s ok for some NPC mages in this game to make their own spells, but you cannot, nope. Ugh, is that not one of the points of being a mage, make your own stuff, bah!
Agreed. Magic took a heavy blow.
Main Quest just blows. The Oblivion Main Quest was a roller coaster ride. In this game, it was exciting at first but then it comes to a halt. It is like being with someone and having the best night ever, then morning comes, the booze wears off and you see who is next to you and know it may have not been the best night of your life. I am just disappointed that the main quest did not give that “Wow factor” Oblivion did. Too many holes, too much running around to stop a creature who seems to sit on a mountain drinking tea and cookies but plans to devour the world-um OK.
Can't comment as I haven't finished the main quest.
The Guild quests were a mess. The Dark Brotherhood and The Thieves Guild were not too bad. However Todd, fire whoever wrote the Mage’s and Companions story. You know how bad it is in my opinion? I would rather sit in a room and watch Catwoman and Spiderman 3 then to play through these again. The Mage’s Guild in Oblivion you felt like you were climbing the ladder, apprentice, journeyman etc. Here there are no titles; just a streamline quest that involves a mysterious faction (that appears out of nowhere) you know nothing about and at the end, you get the CEO office. Um OK. In addition, I will not go into detail of how bad the Companions quest was because it is simply not worth the hassle.
Agreed.
The finale pet peeve of mine, not being able to attack underwater. Yes, please add in Slaughterfish, that way they can continue to bite me and the only way I can attack them is getting into the shallow section, oh wait that is not the shallow section it’s a waterfall, bloody hell.
Underwater combat was silly. I'm glad they did away with it.
Now why don't you consider all the things Skyrim improved over Oblivion?
