I've refused to join the Circle

I also refused. It didn't make sense for my character to join them, even if you get a cure later on. The only annoying thing is guards will comment on you "fetching the mead" with the companions for the rest of the game.

You are still "fetching mead" even if you are the Harbinger. I think guards are just dumb in this game and don't realize that something changed! LOL

I won't even join the companions with my current character. I never liked being a Werewolf and I never changed to beast form when I was one in previous playthroughs. Plus, you can "cure yourself" pretty much towards the END of the quest line. I rather get the well rested bonus!

People these days :shakehead:

Yeah, seriously. People only wanting more powers and wanting to rack up ACHIEVEMENTS~! Role-playing is dead nowadays.

Oh, wait ... you were talking about something else?

What Bethesda should add is an option to continue into the circle without becoming a Werewolf.
The whole idea behind the Circle is that they're all werewolves. The Circle aren't "leaders" of the Companions (they say a couple times that the Companions have not had a leader since Ysgramor), they're just a semi-exclusive group within the Companions who are secretly werewolves. If you're not a werewolf, it makes no sense to be in the Circle.

Of course, that's not to say you shouldn't be able to continue doing work for the Companions without becoming a werewolf. You just wouldn't be part of the Circle.

Turning into a beast to increase your combat prowess? Doubting your human abilities then? Honourable warriors my ass.
Yeah, that struck me as odd, too. :\

FWIW: I've only used Beast Form two times...to commit a murder or two...
Spoiler
Grelod the Kind and the Alik'r Warriors that hang out after the Redguard woman quest

I kept forgetting to sleep to reset the timer which is odd because in Fallout 3 I was always sleeping (even out in the Wasteland) to get my Well Rested 'perk'.

It's not like there's any negative consequences to the lycanthropy, unless it interferes with someone's role playing.

I haven't been able to get a good night sleep since I joined the Circle...

I didn't like that you had to become a werewolf to continue on. But I've been one my entire game. Not worrying about diseases is nice, and I have only turned into one twice.

I just went with it, but you actually have to accept it to continue the Companion's quests? :o
