and no i didn't stop playing the game there so was extremly happy to find out they can get stronger but really 1st time i cast it i was like USELESS!

also I dont want Skyrim over run with dragons like Oblivion got over run with gates id be happy if 1 or 2 dragons could be seen flying about every now and then but 3-infinity might be a bit much ... so how many more quest should I do for the main quest so dragons dont start mad spawning? last mission i had was to
Spoiler
go to some cave (i think it was a cave) north east of Marthal and gather a horn of something
my last save was at Marthal

Okay, two answers:

1. Dragons: 3 to infinity? You're already there. They will show up every so often, and sometimes at the most inopportune times. Yes. It's done. You should make peace with it or start a new game. You're locked in the moment you kill your first one.

2. The Shout: Not so useless. It will stagger an opponent for a moment, giving you chance to switch weapons or swallow a potion. But it gets better, definitely - at least for me. At the third stage, you can send spiders (and Thalmor) rolling.

I think the shouts are awesome and clearly the design was to have shouts for all kinds of players. Assassins and sneak thiefs have shouts too ;) I consider the 'Aura Whisper', 'Become Ethereal' and 'Throw Voice'-shouts as such. The Fus-Ro-Dah is awesome in the mountains! Fire and ice is great for wizard-playing characters, and I could go on. Of course, you pick the shouts that suits your playing style best. That doesn't make most other shouts useless though. They serve a purpose.

I dont need to switch weapons my character is a mage (plus using the favourites menue basically pauses the game)

Useless? Say what? It helped me out A LOT on my journey. After I fought the first dragon, I haven't progressed with the story for a few weeks and was happy with the first shout.

Wow, really? You can't believe the first shout wasn't awesome? Honestly the shouts are nothing and really are not what the game is about. With about 300+ hours of playing I think I can count on one hand how many times I've used a shout (when it wasn't scripted to be used). If you are playing Skyrim for the shouts I think you need to re-evaluate why you play.

im playing it to be a freaken death mage marking the end has come to all who witness my glory but hows that supposed to be done if a shout of a dragon barely nudges a guy ... it didnt feel powerful enough

and no one else felt underwhelmed with the very 1st shout before it got intensified ? (just Fus forget about the Ro and Dah)

I use the Storm Call shout a lot, especially on forts and Forsworn camps. Park the follower a distance away, go into sneak, get as close as possible without being swarmed, shout and run away to recharge, thins down the mobs a bit. The Ice Form shout is fun in narrow passages The toughest fight I've had in the game, with 3 different characters, has been in Liar's Retreat, mobs of Falmer in the first large room. It would have been much harder without the shouts. Parked follower outside, run in and aggro the mob, run back to entrance and turn around and shout Ice Form , run out and recharge. End result, (after a few stupid deaths, one-shotted by Shadowmasters), heaps of dead Falmer by the entrance.

I found that the shout at the beginning... yes is perhaps weak... but by no means is it useless :)

vampire master - expert mode - low level - 1 hit one of my guys regularly... so next time i came across them, i used that first part of the shout and staggered him... enough time to get some hard hits in and kill him...
OR
run out of stamina... low health... no meds... two hander is about to swing at me and will kill me even when blocking for example... "FUS" and he stumbles giving me time to beat him senseless

(keep in mind this is just to point out it is useful for staggering an enemy, even later.. a quick stagger and short shout recharge is better than a full phrase in some situations!)
