...my main character married Muiri he bought it as a "wedding gift" and while she uses it a fair bit...
I've seen my wife (Syljga) using both the Alchemy Table and the Enchanting Table in Proudspire on a few occasions. :P Makes me a little nervous sometimes.

Uh I believe all ya'll are talking crap.... I've got over 600 hrs on this game and havn't been able to interact with NPCs like some folks are talking about

I suppose you can sort of go out on "picnics" with a spouse. Just go outside and choose the "yo, cook me up some food without a campfire" option. Other than that, most of these interactions are doable. Or it's obvious people are joking around. As for the whole "clubbing" thing, I was referring to the fact that I gave my wife literally a giant's club. Not sure if you were referring to that statement, or someone else's. I know you didn't ask, but maybe you were referring to that.

They're referring to "RP."
Me neither.
See above.

I don't honestly get the way a lot of people put the Forsworn armor on the girls for the six appeal. My wife is Mjoll the Lioness and I married her because I know we can go into battle together and she'll come out the other side alive with me. So she has the best armor available, Legendary Daedric armor as well as a Legendary Daedric 1h sword. She comes with me to fight, not prance around and cook for my amusemant.

My Argonian wife married me right after we met, how could she not? The Dragonborn walks by, flaunting an amulet saying that she's on the market, then she walks up and ceremoniously asks you for a random fetch quest, implying that she's interested. I doubt anyone in Skyrim would turn down the Dragonborn especially when they offer to move you into Windhelm, after skinning Ulfric like a sabre cat cub. If you find a single Dovakiin you grab on and don't let go, or so that's what mom always used to say.

Plus my character is mostly in it for the uber hot Khajiit on Argonian lisbian orgies held bi-weekly in the secret love nest behind the bookcase.
Wooooahhhh! Spoiler bro

Well.... either you're a LOT older than those who are looking for sixy pixels on screen - or you're a much more mature person that age.

I caught my wife, Camilla Valerius, with that wood elf punk. So, this is what I did.
I killed Faendal and trapped his soul in a black soul gem, which is placed on my counter next to my bed at the moment; then I resurrected him and killed him again. After that, I began beating my wife with my ring hand whilst healing her with my left hand. I've treated her right since that little mishap though...

I do believe there is a back story there - it may be one of those things that were not finished before game release ...
Spoiler
I happened upon a relatively interesting thing in a mead hall somewhere, where there is an extremely depressed alcoholic chap who goes on about his 'love' who ran off with someone called 'Vex' ... you can ask around a bit about it, but no quest becomes active, so I don't know ... maybe his love is Vex, who knows!
Hang on....WHAT???? Which hold/city were you in??? This is gradually becoming an obsession for me....

edit: nvm. I haven't gotten around to questing in Windhelm yet.

I chalk the short 'courtships' up to mainly time compression that is common to games. Seondarily, in ancient times many marriages were arranged and entered into out of protection and stability. Marriages based on romantic attractions and affection were the stuff of songs, poems, and stories in ancient/medieval times. So a powerful Dragonborn would be attractive based on the quailties that were important in that era.

It would be cool if the marriages were a little more Fable-like, but we'll have to take what Bethesda gives us. I do hope that Bethesda gives us the opportunity to dress our wives in something a little more sixy than miner's garb (Syljga).

Edit:

That's sixist! She can be both.
Actually, that would make her a dominatrix.....

my redguard trader has known ysolda for an in-game month -and a half now, and so far hes takeing her for a three cource meal at the drunken huntsman.

Translation: I placed a Gourd, a Charred Sheever Hide and some bread in her inventory. All she did was play with her food and say she was not hungry.

2 picnics out in the great plains

Translation: She got trampled by a mammoth, I tried to save her but a giant shot me to the moon. The second time a saber cat killed her, I tried to defend her but a mud crab came out of no where and finished me off.

bought her a silver necklace

Translation: After a city guard killed a bandit, I found this silver necklace on his corpse. Don't worry I spit shinned the blood off.

he sees her everyday at the market

Translation: I really don't know where the hell she is, probably chatting with Nazeem or asking some other looser to fetch her some large pink bottles.........

at night at the bannered mare

Translation: I see her at the Bannered Mare, but only AFTER I give her 10 bottles of Spiced Wine and paid for a room. Told her I was the "Dragonborn" and needed to study women's anatomy for uh, saving the world purposes, you know in case I fight a female bandit.

(forgot he got the tusk for her aswell)

Translation: I gave her my "tusk" all night long..then she rolled over the next morning, and told me to get the hell out!

I can't quite wrap my head around the Dovahkiin marrying some random beggar or housecarl, but Allie did need a housekeeper, so she "married" Ysolda. Ysolda gets to set up her dream shop, Allie has someone to manage her house, cook meals, and pay the bills, and I don't inquire too closely about their sleeping arrangements. Nights are cold in Skyrim.

The only person I've seen who my character would consider to be of equal status is the Psijic, and I don't think Psijics are allowed to marry.

Yeah, I usually assume "monk" means they've taken a vow of chastity.

Alright, in another save I married Ysolde, but got rather tired of her quickly, especially since she messes up the house so much... Tonight, I will be divorcing her.

With a knife.

And a sweet roll.

In fact, I try to visit my wife every day. Not just to collect the money and for a meal.

If I'm going on a larger journey, I spend more time with her than usual. When I come back, I give her a few gifts like flowers or some collectibles.

Do I treat my women right...

Ummmmm.

Well, Muiri kept getting in my characters way, knocking stuff off of the shelves in the house, etc... so I killed her.

I'm a Widower now...

So I guess that's going to be a "No".

Remarry! And become a widower again!

I wonder if the temple masters in Riften have anything to say if you visit them several times after your wives have died...

...but that's what a RL woman would do. Convince someone to marry them for cash and benefits rather than love.

Fixed.
