At what level is Daedric armor available in chests?

Post » Sun Jun 03, 2012 5:20 pm

I have 3 characters between levels 42 and 46, All 3 have found Daedric and dragonplate armor and/or weapons. My latest, a Nord level 46 sword and board, has found 3 Daedric armor pieces starting about level 42, and a two-handed Daedric Greatsword,a Warhammer, along with 2 pieces of Dragonplate armor. None of which he will use, because his crafted ebony items are far better and don't have the impractical, silly projections sticking out from the armor like Dragonplate and Daedric do, begging for an enemy's weapon to catch on. Personal aesthetic preference, and the ebony is doing all I could hope for. Followers get his Daedric and Dragonplate stuff.

If you're looking for a set, it's probably easier leveling your Smithing to 90 and taking the Daedric smithing feat. Aside from the fact that it only appears at higher levels, it's pretty rare to run into even when your level is sufficient.

i dont think you can get daedric armors from chests, maybe until lv 70+? Closest thing i saw is ebony and glass. Also dragon armors can only be made

I've found dragon armor at level 45ish. Don't know how this happened, I was really confused to see it, but I did see it.

I am level 79 and I have never seen any daedric armor or weapons other than arrows in any loot or store. I saw a single dragonscale armor in a chest at level 78. If you want daedric or dragon armor you should level your smithing as finding a full set is virtually impossible. Now if you are happy with ebony or glass I see that [censored] all the time so you could definately find ebony/glass at higher levels without having to make it. With that said you should level the smithing and invest the perks since making your own [censored] to enchant how you want is way better than relying on what you find.

Maybe it has to do with difficulty. What difficulty do you play? I mean it's only logical that you need better gear for higher difficulty.

Untrue, Dragon armour can be found in chests, I have found it several times myself.

I found daedric armor ... somewhere, at least once. I'm level 50 and it was pretty recently.

Level 36, legitimately just found Dragonplate Gauntlets inside of a master-level chest.

I've picked up Daedric and Dragon armor pieces at around level 55-57, random chest loot both times.

That seems hella low for Dragon gear.

It might be that odds are just extremely low in the middle levels compared to higher levels of your character.
For example, maybe a piece of Dragonplate has like a 0.1% chance of spawning in a chest at level 35, but the odds of same armor spawning at 55 are 1-2%.

I'm massively confused by it as well, but I'm not questioning it. I'm a level or two away from getting the perk that gives a 50% chance of better stuff from chests as well, so I know that's not why I got them.

No idea. The chest was during the thieve's guild quest in Brinewater Grotto. If someone can shed light on why I now have dragonplate gauntlets at level 35, please let me know :P

It's 48 for enchanted daedric items, it's a bit lower for non enchanted items buy I can't remember the exact level.

certain chests may have "unlocked" lv modifiers and may drop high level gear even when you arent. or it might be the .1% lucky shot like foh123 posted.

I think I was around 42 or so when I found Daedric Armor in a chest at a giant's camp just North of Whiterun. I also found a Dragonplate Shield in a giant's cave East of Whiterun near the Valtheim Towers. I think I was in the mid 40's at that point too, but don't recall the exact level.

It's never going to be common. If you really want daedric the best thing is to become a smith. All things considered it's not that many points.
Which both keeps with lore and breaks lore.

Keeps with lore: Daedric armor and weapons are supposed to be rare.

Breaks lore: You can easily find the components and craft them, implying that they shouldn't be rare.

This calls for a mod.

Ya, I like that it is so rare to find though, not like oblivion where everyone and their grandmother carried daedric weapons and armor once you reached a certain level. Keeping it rare makes it feel more unique and more rewarding when you actually do find a piece or two.

Gotten daedric boosts in another chest since posting this topic, along with the daedric/dragonplate helmet. I can also make my own daedric now so I suppose it's all irrelevant but it is good to see you can get daedric items at a not-too-unfathomable rate.

I'm level 57 and I've only found a max of 10 Daedric Arrows from a vendor, a Daedric Dagger in a chest, andddd that's it.

I've found probably half a dozen pieces of Dragonscale armor (boots and helmets mostly) since level 40. No Dragonbone though. Hm.
