At what level is Daedric armor available in chests?

Post » Sun Jun 03, 2012 9:05 pm

I'm currently 39 at the moment and I sparingly get Ebony armor, more so from special chests. I haven't gotten one piece of dragon armor, though, I have a chest full of like 100 bones and scales but my smithing is only 29 and it will be a LONG time before I can make my own Daedric.

So about what level could I start seeing Daedric pieces somewhat rarely to uncommon?

i dont think you can get daedric armors from chests, maybe until lv 70+? Closest thing i saw is ebony and glass. Also dragon armors can only be made

I'm at 50 and have never seen Daedric (well, recently I got like 6 Daedric arrows from a dead boss-type), but I'm not far along in the MQ. Since, I've never seen Daedric arrows at vendors and only recently saw Ebony arrows (3 <_<) at a vendor I'm guessing it's based on storyline and not class-less level.

I got my Smithing to 100 as quickly as I could and mined my own Ebony so I had Legendary Ebony armor at like LVL 21.

Damn. Guess I'll have to get used to hitting up the forge then and read some skill guides.

i remember there is an atronach forge in the Midden that creates daedric armors if you have done a quest and have specific items...

Does it require the smithing levels though? I think I have most of the items..I saved up Daedra hearts and ebony ingots that I collected, so that when I could finally make daedric I'd be able to make a full set of armor and weapons.

I'm at level 60 but already at 55 I found a Dragonplate shield, Daedric boots and a Daedric sword of nullifying (damage 41, 60 points of Magicka damage). I'm also at 100 in Smithing and have created light and heavy dragon armors but I prefer my glass armor because: Glass: Armor 723 Boots 321 Gauntlets 321 Helmet 345 Shield 203 Bow 78 damage Burns 31 pts, paral. 5 secs Dagger 171 damage if dies within 17 secs fills soul gem. Burns 10 pts. Paral. 5 secs Sword 180 damage, burns for 35 pts. Does 43 pts of Magicka dam. War axe 183 damage with Silent Moons burns 31 pts. Paral. 5 pts. So why should I change it for the moment? Believe me it's better with light armor when you can create your own gears. I have 100 in enchanting, alchimy, light armor, block, smithing. Heavy is 82 but I increased it with a mudcrab just to level up. Just stand in front of a mudcrab and cast courage on him to increase your illusion as well. It goes very quickly. Good luck

I found a dragonbone armor in a chest at the end of a dungeon at lvl 42 an then nothing more for the two successive game characters in over 100 hrs... Random loot svcks big time. I'd rather have my second/third playthrough spoiled by knowing where to get my loot rather than wandering aimless through dozens of similar dungeons looking for a missing piece of armor.

Main reason I want Daedric is the truly heinous look, but also because I'm a primary heavy armor user and it's the best available. I heard that leveling up on mudcrabs was a good method, though, I'm nearly maxed on heavy armor already (I'm 82).

As far as I can tell, you can get Daedric armour in boss chests at most levels. However it is stupidly rare... I have found 2 peices in over 400 hours and they were both in boss chests.

Spoiler
If you really want to find them there are two ways:
First do the special missions in the theives guild. I reguarly see them seeling glass, ebony, dragonscale and even deadric items I kid you not.
Secondly do the missions for the Orc Librarian in Winterhold, his quests to find books always lead to boss chests.

Thanks for the tips then. I already helped the Orc with a couple of books and yeah the pay off was pretty sweet, but I didn't know about the special guild missions and the lady who runs the store there having good gear. I'll have to try that out as well.

MOAR SPOILERS

Yeah she starts to sell better stuff it seems but I didn't mean her. Once you do 4-5 ( it seems to vary for some reason) in all the MAJOR cities apart from Riftfen you will get a special misson for that city, once you do that mission a new merchant will set up a shop in the Ragged Flaggon.

All types of armor, including dragonplate/scale and deadric can spawn from chests starting at around level 46. The type of chests that can spawn them will usually be the large ornate ones found at the end of dungeons though i have gotten daedric items from regular ones as well. note deadric items with enchantments will have an even higher level requirement.

http://www.uesp.net/wiki/Skyrim:Weapons
deadric armor is ridiculously rare , 1 armor in over 100 hours of play. deadric weaponry is much more common, about 10 in that same time frame.

I believe if you have the smithing skill to craft it, then you'll find it --- regardless of whether you spend the perk on it in smithing.

hmmm my lvl 45 argonian found already enchanted daedric gloves, enchanted daedric boots and an daedric armor already. all of them in dwarven ruins.

the game scales till lvl 50 like i know, so i don't think any new items appear after that lvl. everything can be found in some lvl areas below/at 50

and i am amazed that i am one of the only ones... never found dragon gear though.

oh i also believe, or sometimes it looks like that, that your smithing perks have an impact on the items that can be found?

Level 59 with 100 smithing and never found anything other than Deadric arrows in chests, must be luck of the draw.

I found dragon armor at lvl 42 +/- and the first deadric I found was at lvl 47, all this were in "dungeon treasure chests", the ones that are near a word of power, or near a "boss" in the end of the dungeon.

My level 58 has found no daedric armor. I've received two daedric swords as random quest rewards. Other then that no daedric at all. I've also only found one dragon scale armor piece.

Side note I find tons of daedric arrows in blackreach. Once I hit the mid fifties big bosses ahave started dropping them and dwarven centurions drop piles of them. Hence me getting lots in blackreach.

I'm level 54 with over 375 hours and smithing is at 100.
I've never found any deadric armor. I can buy deadric arrows from the fletcher in Solitude most of the time though. And I do randomly get deadric weapons from bosses. But never from a chest. I made all of mine.
Never saw any dragon armor anywhere either. I made all mine. I have more dragon bones and scales than I know what to do with.

I found Daderic Armor in a chest deep within a Falmer Dungeon, I was level 41 at the time.

Since then I have yet to come across another piece.
