Regarding the "quantity" vs "quality" debate, I'll chime in and use a simple anology to passive media (ie. television shows/movies):
If I had to rate on that basis (quantity vs quality), if the choice was between a twelve to twenty hour epically produced miniseries with high production values whose quality I may rate at 92% vs a two-and-a-half hour epic movie that I would rate quality wise at 98%....
my overall rating would be higher for the miniseries. By it's very nature, it kept me engaged and entertained for an extended time period that supersedes the shorter term of engagement for the movie even if I considered the "quality" of the movie slightly better.
Just like a long 800-1200 page novel that keeps me engaged with a high level of investment of interest will always be considered a higher satisfaction level than a 250 page novella that may be considered a few percentage points higher in actual "quality" of writing.
Do I like both? Absolutely.
Do they both have value to me? Absolutely.
Is my overall satisfaction and enjoyment with the lengthier investment of time usually usually much more significant than a shorter term investment with something that may be slightly higher quality? Absolutely!
