God I love this game and Bethesda!

On a Dollars per Gameplay Time, basis, TES games are about the best deal around. Along with Fallout 3.

Soo very true. I look at my hours played on different games in Steam and FO / TES games blow everything away, no contest. The only other games that come close are MineCraft and Terraria (both awesome).

This game is awesome and brilliant, but there are unfortunately a lot of technical bugs and unoptimizations that make this game less good than it otherwise would be.

For instance, quite many players are never able to reach to those 220 hours of gameplay you've played, because the game gets completely broken and unplayable until then, most often due to crashes and lag, but sometimes other things as well. Despite all this, it's still a darn good game. I just wish Bethesda would have done better on the technical side, so that we could all just simply be able to play and enjoy the game. I for instance have a graphical bug that makes all mountain LOD flicker - it completely ruins the experience when roaming around. That's no fun.

1 hour = 1 buck

that's a good deal in my book

And my friends don't understand why I refuse to pay for subscription games ;p

They pay $10-15 a month to grind out in an MMO and point out this is cheaper than going out for a drink or whatever. Whereas I pay closer to $40 for a game like Skyrim or X which will last 6-12 months or more ;p

At over 220 hours now, that's about 27 cents an hour for entertainment! I wish movies were 54 cents to see in the theater! Don't get me wrong, I've spent a fair amount of time just fixing up my inventory and dealing with my containers, putting down items, picking them up, but DAMN! That's cheap! Or, that's Great Value... If I were at home, I wouldn't be on the forum, I'd be on the xbox. My wife and I get home and start it up every day since Skyrim came out. One of us starts dinner and the other's playing.

:tes:

Sounds almost exactly like how it is here =).. Except when she plays i do the dishes and when i play she starts dinner... Great deal for both of us since i cant cook at all... and who in their right mind likes doing the dishes? I have played thru the main quest on my first char, but since then i have been playing dead is dead the first 10-15 levels over and over again. and i aint sick of it yet... Just imagine how much content i got left to see! :D every new character has something new happen to them during that period aswell.

No I'm talking about how PS3 games get umplayable after the save file grow too large.

Wow never heard that one. Hope I dont run into that problem. Although Ive beatin Oblivion and did every single side and misc quest along with the main quests and had a house FULL of sh*t and thats never happened. Massive games are pretty much all I play and I only got a old fat60 gig ps3 and never had that happen. Unless its a Skyrim thing.... Ill jus buy a 1t.b. HDD if thats the case. I bet that wouldnt fill up lmao.

The cost per hour of gameplay breakdown is actually what I base my game purchasing on, which means I end up buying games with really engrossing storylines and lots of replay value. If I'm not going to play the game for at least 200 hours or more, I won't buy it except when it's really, really heavily discounted. With Skyrim, I've been averaging around 130 hours per character, and I'm planning on doing at least one character per available race, and likely many more beyond that. Regardless of Skyrim's flaws (and yes, they are there), the game as a whole is brilliant, fun, and immersive. And when the DLC comes out, it'll get even better.

Anyone who wishes to see nothing but the flaws, who can't see past the bugs, or the occasionally repetitive NPC dialogue will never be able to enjoy a game. Any game. Ever. Because what they're asking for is perfection. Each game made by any developer is a prototype, unless it's using the exact same game engine and assets, largely unmodified, with maybe a few tweaks here and there. There can't be new features, content, or even new ideas unless the developers try something new. So, yes, there may be some bugs, there may always be some bugs, but the game as a whole, if it is entertaining, if it is fresh and interesting, if it has accomplished what the devs set out to do, then it is a success. And Skyrim IS a success, no matter what whiny complaints naysayers issue. I for one have greatly enjoyed Skyrim, and I intend to continue to do so, bugs and all. Three cheers for Bethesda! Three cheers for Skyrim! :celebration: :foodndrink: :tes:

I play on PC so yeah I love this game too! Only 150 hours played here, but then I have to make my own dinner etc. I need a girlfriend so I can play more...

Haha, I think that's about the funniest thing I've heard on this forum!

I've had quite a few and now a wife, and it never seemed to work that way for me...

My "I love this game" topic did not get any love... sorry to say, but we're a dying breed, you and I.

Edit: Well look at that! It got revived. It seems people still love it, after all.
I love this game too but i don't create threads about it, but people who complain usually do because, well, some want to point out things that are wrong with the game and some just want to express their disappointment.

I love Skyrim too! So immense, beautiful and full of surprises. ES games are tops for replayability too!
My husband and I alternate playing and we are loving every minute.

It's even better with mods! Some amazing mods already without the CK. When CK is finally released Skyrim will reach amazing levels.

TO THE OTHER OP-CPT CALVERA--do you not consider that there are actually ps3 users out there that have had NO ISSUES at all??that includes ME AND 4/5 OTHERS I KNOW. DONT ASSUME THAT THE DOCUMENTED ISSUES EFFECTS EVERYONE!!!

i am over 100hrs 10/11mb save and my game is more than PLAYABLE,NO LAG,NO GAMEBREAKING BUGS.

think its a bit dis-respectfull to ASSUME that everyone on PS3 is having a bad expierence :tes:

I'm loving it too. I bought a second copy in the first week so my husband and daughter could share on the other xbox 360. Conversations at the dinnertable tend to be about fighting dragons and finding hidden caves behind waterfalls, hehe. It's an amazing game, and our whole family is enjoying it immensely. I was a bit weary since Oblivion never quite lived up to Morrowind for me, but Skyrim is just as amazing as Morrowind. :tes:

Save pity for the people who buy this game thanks to overly-positive threads like this and then realize that Bethesda just sold you an unfinished game.

I got a finished copy. Yay, me!

Bethesda and Square Enix are the two companies that I'm pretty certain I've never bought a bad game from. Oh, and Nintendo. :)

I buy a lot of games throughout the year but Bethesda's games I always seem to double up on and the ones I spent most time on. Two copies of FO3 (360/PC), two copies of NV (360/PC) and I'll have two copies of Skyrim soon.

When I was growing up it was iD and Activision, but since I got hooked on Beth games since Morrowind that's mainly all I play is Beth games.

I had a short whiner last week because of the lack of depht in conversations with npc's and some other dissapointing features. I do miss a deeper gameplay, but grief is over now. Everything in the game that is good, is [self-censored] good! The world is HUGE and detailed way beyond my expectations, worth at least 300 hours of fun to me. The last thing I intent to complain about is the value of the money spent.

Hope they patch PS3 version soon.

In the beginning, when I was too immersed in the game for my GF to even live with me, I had Lydia chopping wood for me when I had to eat in real life. It's easy on the joypad because all you has to do is pressing "A" to activate her again and again every 15 second or so. She (Lydia) could make me five hundred gp while I made tea and a sandwich.
