FORCED 3rd Person again? Bethesda going cosnole totally?

Post » Tue Jun 05, 2012 9:20 pm

I agree with Blade watcher, I like to get immersed in the game and to play in 1st person. I like to become my character and to see through their eyes. I hate not being able to ride a horse in 1st person, so I dont use one. I hate not being able to be a werewolf in 1st person, so I dont turn into a werewolf. If I could have played a werewolf in 1st person then I am sure I would have had lots of hours enjoying roleplaying as one.

Bethesda didn't use forced 3rd person because of consoles, they chose to use forced 3rd person because, simply, they wanted to. They thought it would make for a better gaming experience and that most people would enjoy it that way. In my opinion they were wrong.

Lets hope they fix it in the next ES game, so that players can always choose whether to go 1st person or 3rd person. Thats what Bethesda games should be about, choice.
Yes, they should be about choice, but making it the fault of consoles makes him look like a used [censored].

This is what i don`t understand. I know Todd prefers 1st person.

But why FORCE 3rd person. we have always had BOTH. So why not keep both?

It makes no sense. It`s a first for Bethesda games and going down a rocky road in imho.

no it's not a first, wasn't redguard entirely in 3rd person? weren't they also a sports game company prior to TES? all your posts are nonsense, what wavelength is your brain on?

Interesting. I say it`s console, maybe I`m wrong and maybe I`m right.

I find it always funny rather than enter into debate and PROVING wrong,

Wut?

Incredible troll or incredibly dumb, I just don't know anymore.

Cool, well i'll be waiting for when the OP actually does that instead of screaming that he's being forced to play 3rd person and it's all the fault of consoles.

Well I think 1st person in horses will be hard and prefer 3rd. As for werewolf, not one yet. I don't remember in Morrowind.

Yea, that's not the way it works.

You don't get to throw any old comment out there as your "theory" and say we have to prove you wrong. You have to actually provide some support for your position before anyone has to provide support to shoot it down. And other than your blanket statement that 3rd person werewolves are the fault of the dreaded CONSOLES, you've provided no support.

Even so, it's been pointed out that Morrowind, a game available on CONSOLE, allowed first person for werewolves. So that kind of shoots down your theory that somehow CONSOLES require third person for werewolves.

So, please, stop.

I love the way you try to sound smart, yet, don`t. I explained the situation, quite clearly.

No one has shot it down at all, explain why?

Morrowind was avialable on console WAY after PC and only as a second thought. It allowed 3rd person AND 1st person.

Since going to console Bethesda games have been gradually moving to FORCED 3rd PERSON bit by by bit from when you sit at a table (Oblivion) to Skyrim where you are not even given an option any more.

Shot down? Not shot down even in the slightest, pal.

I wait to be proven wrong and properly.

1.) What does forced 3rd person have to do with consoles in any way, shape, or form?

Mindless whining again? Pretty much.

2.) This really is not a big deal. At all. In even the teeniest, tiniest, slightest bit. It's really not.

i totally agree with you brother, i don't know why people blame everything on consoles, its just another way to play a game and if it suits you go for it if not and you want mods then get the PC version. but the 1st to 3rd person has nothing to do with the game having a console version. and like you said, its not a huge deal, at least you the choice of 1st person mode for most of the game, theres still adventure games made with no 1st person.

:P and i like being a vampire anyways!

1) He sounds much smarter than you do right now, not that that's any great feat anyway.

2) YOU are the one making the claim, therefore YOU are the one responsible for proving it, not the other way around, take a basic logic and crit class when you get to college.

With a press of a button in oblivion and skyrim, you can go to first person at tables, good lord, you must not understand how a keyboard works, especially since you are using the wrong " ' ", I use the ` symbol because it makes me look special.

You are higher than normal as an werewolf, change first person camera height might be an problem, it was hard to mod in Oblivion, no mods was able to move the 3rd person camera so it did not center on your head.
I guess it was some technical issues and they found it easier to just do 3rd person then riding or werewolf.

Now if only this was the original post, we could of had a nice thread.

I do hate that it's forced (although I do like playing in third person outside of interior cells) but I can see why they did it as for both cases you're usually moving quickly so it's to better see the world around you as you do it. But an option would of been nice. However, I don't see it as a big enough of a problem to exclude that aspect from actual play, just make it less so other than when you want to be an awesome werewolf or ride a horse. You can even envision it as in a more traditional sense for werewolves an out of body experience (as werewolves saw their nighttime activities as dreams usually when depicted in fiction)

I find it always funny rather than enter into debate and PROVING wrong, The most that any of you can do is ridicule and basically prove my point.

You even miss the point to do it.

Well, apparently the point about not bashing platforms and flaming other posters has also been missed completely by several posters in this thread.

So this is locked.
