I cannot best you...

Sounds like awfully bad English. 'I cannot beat you' sounds better to me.
It's Olde English.

It's old english.

Maybe they are shouting it to deceive you? They intend for you to put your weapon away thinking they have surrendered, so that they can turn around and attack you. Maybe that was what the intended effect was?
Perhaps. But don't you agree that the effect would make a much bigger impact if it wasn't so predictable?

lame.. this game has no boss fights.. no buildup to anything.. once you fight one dragon you have fought them all.. Not one memorable encounter or villian..

You should try Skyrim instead of whatever game you're playing. My Skyrim has all those things.

Letting them go just means they're going to get back up and fight again.

I actually think it was a real mistake having the NPCs say this when you're fighting them, if you're playing as a good hero character, as I always do, it is a real immersion breaker when I'm forced to decapitate someone pleading 'I cannot best you!', that instantly turns me into the bad guy!

I think killing these nasty bandits is a good deed. All they do is loot and kidnap and kill people. Plus they attack you first so I kill each and every one of them. I am also a good hero character.

are you fuggin serious or just trolling? This is by far the best game I have ever laid my hands upon. The toughest boss fight so far imo is Maleyn Varen. I am a battle mage and his deadra (spelling) destroy me with three fireballs. The dragon fights are great, yes each and everyone. The story has great buildup right down to the side and misc quests. You must be [censored] or something
