WHY were the raspy Dunmer voice taken out... AGAIN?

You feel betrayed? That's a bit over-the-top, don't you think?

They technically advertised the raspy voice in the convention demos, leading Morrowind players to believe the old dunmer male voice is back.
But once the game is finally played and people heard "geht meh dawn! geht meh dawn!" from Arvel, the feeling of betrayal is more than justified.

Not really. It's a technical demo, things change. I wouldn't really get worked up over a voice.

Well it's happened to twice now. Once in Oblivion and now secondly in Skyrim.
For people who liked the voice greatly in Morrowind, it can feel like Bethesda is twisting their hide somewhat.
If they aren't going to use the voice in the final game. Fine. Just don't taunt people with it in demos.

i just wish they would keep one accent, i swear some of them magically lose the cockney accent and switch to...well a regular voice. The dunmer in the quest from dawn star was really noticeable

I noticed this, as well. I was never particularly attached to Morrowind's Dunmer male voice, but it just kind of fit and it's completely unacceptable that Bethesda are literally professionally trolling the fanbase like this. What possible reason would they have to falsely advertise this in demos twice when they know some of their fans desperately want it back? Do they think it guarantees more sales (under false pretenses), or something? It's not funny, it's not proper, it's just being rude and jerk-like.
