What your least favorite city?

Post » Sat Jun 09, 2012 1:54 am

I have to agree with the people who mentioned Dawnstar; it's such a waste of potential in my opinion. It's supposed to be Skyrim's largest port town, yet there's barely any sailors around and the bustling trade you'd expect from a large harbour is completely missing.

Whiterun. Worthless shops, FPS drops, and everyone's been there seeing same old buildings and people five billion times.

Winterhold. Now if the debris down on the rocks where the city used to be were actually explorable, it might be one of my favorites. It's a great opportunity for DLC. Later on when you have waterbreathing enchantments, can you imagine exploring an underwater environment -- assuming you could defend yourself. Something would have to work in terms of weapons.

Windhelm, for some reason it looks old, crumbling, and dirty. The pavements are all extremely unrepaired, not to mention its quite maze-like.

Oh and it has an a-hole for a jarl.

Winterhold minus the college is pretty crap too :D though probably that's cause it "fell off into the sea :glare: "
a cheap option to make less houses imo :D

As much as I like Skyrim for its exploration.... There is no place in Skyrim that justifies the use of the term "city".

Rorikstead, there's no traders apart from the inn.

Major city would be Windhelm, because it looks terrible on XBOX. (Also the Argonians are awesome but the Nords are [censored]s to them.

It's a tie between Winterhold or Morthal, Winterhold for being so small and Morthal for having no blacksmith.

Without a doubt, Dawnstar. I'd heard so much about it in previous game lore and held off visiting it till last because I mistakenly believed it to be a walled city. What an utter let down.

Probably Morthal. It's sort of in the middle of nowhere without any terribly interesting features. At least Dawnstar is in a coastal region.

Morthal. It's just so boring. I've been there maybe 10 times and I've played the game at least 4 days a week since launch.

Riften, Whiterun and Solitude:

Riften due to Brynjolf chasing me down everywhere I go in the city and forcing me to have a quest I won't do, stay in my quest log.
Whiterun because by far it has caused the most lagging problems, glitches and crashes for me.
Solitude simply because it's too small for a capital of Skyrim. It even dwarfs it's similar counterpart, The Eyrie, from a Song of Fire & Ice series.

My least favourite by far would have to be Morthal. Although I do like the canol-like layout the place doesn't seem to have much to it and it is just plain gloomy and depressing. Since becoming thane I've avoided it.

Windhelm I'm always in two minds about. It seems dark and gloomy and the layout is confusing as hell, but at the same time the atmosphere is quite realistic. It's an intriguing place to visit.

I love how Markarth is set out - it's a beautiful city, but the corruption and murders are quite off-putting. I tend to spend most of my time in Solitude.

All of them accept WinterHold. Why can we not have a home in the one place were barely anyone lives.

People are annoying.

Join the DB.
Spoiler
After the first quest, you can stay in the abandoned house outside of Morthal.

For me personally; I'd say Dawnstar and Winterhold.
I'm just not a fan of the layout, or the barren tundrid landscape. It's nice for a while, but after a while the snow and low visibility just tends to make me feel incredibly bored.

Now that I think about it though, what about that place, that's one building and tents n' a mine? Isn't that a city/hold? If it is, then there it svcks!

I feel exactly the same about Dawnstar, and I also put off visiting it because I wanted to save something nice for later :/
