It simply makes no sense in the gameworld at all that nothing ever happens even 1in 10 tmes of a fast travel. It`s a simple reminder that you are travelling a possibly hostile distance in the wilds. How hard is that to understand?
I understand your point. I've made over 30 characters so far (only a handful made it to levels 20-30) and have not finished the MQ. This is how I play, my alt-itis kicks in frequently. I understand that the world is hostile. I also understand that when I only have an hour to play I don't want to worry about random encounters while FT because, even if it is logical, it fits your style of play and not mine. And most of what I enounter on the road when I do explore (time permiting) is fairly easy to defeat. Don't see these "incidents" being much different so they are just more stuff to waste my time when I don't have much. When time is tight I prefer my enjoyment of the game be in quests not random incidents. I like some of the ideas of FT w/ incidents but Carraige is safe. Would be interesting.
I guess it`s just pure unwillingness to accept that you`re supposed to be playing in a world where **** happens sometimes even when travelling in a game and there`s no cheap get out of it card.
Well, sorry people, but it doesn`t work that way and even games should reflect that. In fact that`s what games are supposed to do- To test a person`s mind or physical or dexterity in adverse conditions and successfully overcome them.
Games should challenge- always.
Part of my unwillingness probably comes from other people saying how I should play my game because they feel it would be better for me. Escpecially if I cna take a carraige to Winterhold, but I can't take a carriage
from Winterhold. Gives me a reason to FT as there is no carraige. I think MW's travel system was better, but I had much more time to play back then.
And again, it seems that the people who most dislike FT or dont use FT are the ones who really want to change it. In the end, if they did implement a random chance of incident during FT, I would be fine with it.
But what would one expect of a game that gives you `Empty` labels on containers before you even open them?
Don't like that either so we agree on something at least.
