I had an idea about Enchanting

Where did I say I didn't use enchantments?

Probably in the same place that you implied that you restrict yourself.

So we're into guesswork now then. If you want to debate or argue I find it best to get your facts straight first. It tends to help with credibility.

and those of us with self-control shouldn't have to play a game with restrictions because others don't have it.

This discussion is kind of pointless. There are two opposing views and neither side will ever like the other.

TIL saying "those of us with self-control" doesn't mean "I restrict myself."

Hardly knew that was "guesswork."

"those of us with self-control" isn't the same as "I don't use enchantments".

Your signature implies you are just arguing for the sake of it, so you carry on and I'll move on to something more challenging.

Nice to know you are doing the "guesswork" now.

What restrictions exactly would be imposed on you if some Enchantments capped at 85% instead of 100%, since you don't use them anyway?
Hmmm, let me see, oh yes I am restricted when I make a character that I WANT to make over powerful, and besides there are other people who want powerful enchantments and who don't want to restrain themselves or have restrictions put upon them

Don't they deal with that with the Enchantments that are already capped?

Why yes, yes they do.

Hopefully by the time I get back (son just woke up from nap) I get some more useful input rather then a troll post from a troll calling me a troll.

I'd like some thoughtful input to my ideas, if the community would oblige.

Cheers.

Well, I thought the +50 Charisma thing was funny :D

what would be the point in having a cake if you cant eat it?

C'mon somebody! Answer this guy. It's bugged me for decades.

I think smithing needed to be changed because many people who exploited it lost their appetite for the game. Enchanting and Alchemy are OK because there's a bit more gameplay involved and you can't just rely on the stores.

In my game I modded it so only the strongest single enchantment applied. It made the game a lot more difficult. It nerds everything - resists, fortify skills and magic reduction. Enchanting is still useful, just not overpowered.

Hmm, that's an interesting idea. It still keeps the enchanting skill/perks useful while limiting its OP potential (esp. if the restriction is enforced on "gearing" the other crafting skills too). I'll have to keep this in mind ... thanks for sharing.

i have an idea that will fix both enchanting and skyrim. Take out enchanting and smithing as skills.

Someone ealier in the thread brought up the 100% chameleon thing from oblivion.

I think enchanting (and smithing too) are kind of like that.

And my last two characters haven't used enchanting or smithing either at all or just a minor degree.

I figured out the soul trap + BFB idea on the second character I made quite by accident. I had a handful on me while I did the dungeon and was shocked when I got back to dragonsreach and how fast it leveled and realized getting to the top would be really really easy.
