Skyrim is Great

I am 18 years old right now, and played Morrowind when I was in Middle School, but I also gave it another shot a month or so ago (I was 18 then).

That would not make sense, as I dislike the CoD games very much.

Um... well for the first few times I tried it out... no. But I eventually ended up making it out of those tunnels and into the actual world. I found some Bandits, stole one of their horses, and rode to a city, and along the way me and my horse got into a fight (I accidentally hit him or something) and I died SEVERAL times. I just could not get into it at all.

For some reason, I also remember making it to an area that was very 'red' and some goblin things attacked me, but I can't be sure that was the same game.

Look, I am just saying that I disliked the older TES games because I could not get into them as much as I can with Skyrim. And the flaws which were in OB and MW didn't help that fact. To me, they just weren't good games, but I still respect the fact that they were indeed some very influential and grand games of their times.

How can you know much of the flaws in OB when you quit after an hour of play? Sounds to me like you rage-quit the game and branded it as "flawed".

Edit: There's more to the game than a tutorial dungeon and horse fighting.

I agree on skyrim but having only played oblivion beforehand it (so wont talk about MW) but surely oblivion was v.similar to skyrim minus the shiny new graphics and no perks?(Yes i know there were other skills but just from a simple point of view)
Oh and i enjoy FPS's so is my opinion null and invalid? though my favourite is COD4 though MW3 isnt too bad.

I kind of understand what CrackedAxe means. Sure there are SOME memorable characters in MW, but for the most part, they're very, very bland. I think the volume of dialogue helps hide that to an extent - people seem deeper when there's more to talk to, even if 90% of it is copy-pasted from every other NPC in the world. Characters have never really been TES's strong point.

Ahnassi, Vivec, Dagoth Ur, Cosades, Guild leaders... they're the only detailed characters I can really remember and the latter lost their detail frequently as they spouted more shared dialogue. Still it's better than Skyrim or Oblivion's attempt, though I'd say generally speaking Skyrim's NPCs are better than Oblivion's (who basically became broken robots with only one or two unique lines, only one of which you'd hear more than once). They were also quite right to remove the ability to talk to everyone - that was silly.

Thing is though; Morrowind's dialogue format allowed for a mod call Less Generic NPC. That mod actually added in characters to the world. Unfortunately, due to well, voice acting, such a mod would be impossible (or at least rather jarring) to do in Skyrim.
