I've played Morrowind, and I've played Oblivion, and I'll not lay a finger on them ever again. They were the two worst games that I'VE ever played. It just had awful and cheap gameplay, and just seemed very poorly made.
But I saw videos on Skyrim, and then I bought the game, and I loved it. It is a huge improvement over TES III and IV, in my opinion at least.
I've been playing the game for three days, and each day I feel like I am playing something different. I began as a Male Nord Warrior, who exceled in Archery, Sword-and-Shield combat, and Light Armor. One day I was a Stormcloak Soldier fighting in a Civil War; the next day I was equipped with Dragonscale Armor trying to find a way to defeat Alduin; the next day I was playing as a Thief trying to move up in the ranks of the Thieve's Guild, and meddling in the Dark Brotherhood.
I really couldn't wait to see what else I could have done. So I started me a whole new character. This time I chose a Female Imperial Warrior, who dual-wielded swords and wore light armor. I am on the side of the Imperial Legion now, and I am doing the Civil War questline again, but this time on the side of the Imperials. And since I know how everything works now, I understand why level-grinding is a bad idea and I am making a fortune very fast (which may or may not be a good thing).
I reckon one day I'll be a Dunmer Assassin, but that can wait.
I literally don't know why everyone keeps on ranting about the game. Maybe I just don't know how much has changed, considering I barely played MW and OB. But still, the game is a great game and feels like a great improvement.
