What's Your Race?

Tried all of them... except high elf and wood elf. Only one I can stick to for 300 hours is a Dunmer. Imperials and Nords I also like, can get 50 hours out of them but I get tired of them after a while.

The Dunmer I create are all in some way connected to the Telvanni Mage I had in Morrowind so I guess that helps with the RP factor. One is him.... Telvanni wizards live to be thousands of years old. One is a vampire he uses as a personal assassin. One(current character) is his son who is not quite as good with magic as his father, but is good with a bow and to please his father attempts to use magic. Primarily just using flesh spells and summon undead to compliment his bow right now... and making poisons of course.

My main playthrough has and will always be a Khajiit assassin/thief. In Skyrim, when I'm done playing my Khajiit (which will probably take YEARS!) I will try a two-handed Nord, a one-handed/dual wield Orc and a High Elf - pure mage. I'd also love to play a strict thief Argonian (only put perks in Thief skills), and a Breton mage/battlemage. Well, if I had that much time, I'd do all the races!

i've always liked bretons in tes, probably because they look sorta like me. Also the bonus to magic helps. In every tes game i've played a breton spell sword wearing glass armor

At the moment, I'm playing as a Breton mage.

Thinking of starting a new character soon though. It will probably be a heavy 2h Nord as I've never played as a warrior type character yet in Skyrim.

Shameless plug for my race mod which makes racials auto-cast, and gives them to NPC's. I think it may be something a few people in here would appreciate when choosing their races :)

It depends on the build I'm going with. My main is a High Elf spellcaster (necromancer). My alt is a Nord warrior (one hand/shield).

I always play a Dunmer. I'm not sure why. I tried other races in OB and always came back to the dark elves. In Skyrim, however, I started a brand new Nord character, but haven't been in the mood to play it.

Argonians with Dragonscale armor look EPIC. Spikey lizard with more spikes....

As for race, my prefernces usually change. After watching hours of cat videos on Youtube, my current interest is Khajiit...I like having claws and fangs.

Nord
High Elf

I like the contrast between play-throughs.

I start off pretty much every RPG as a human warrior of some kind. My first playthrough, then, was - big surprise! - a sword-wielding Imperial. For seconds I tend to stay human but switch specialties, delving a bit more into the roleplaying aspect of things, so a Nord rogue-type it was. Third, I stray from humans and go heavy on the magic - a Dunmer mage this time around. Fourth, I just have fun. A Khajiit unarmed thief build? Why, that fits the bill just fine.

In past ES games I would always play as Breton, Dunmer or Imperial. Breton because of the magic and western european feel, Dunmer for their skills and lore, Imperial because they're romans and romans are awesome.

In Skyrim I started out as a Dunmer (love their look, and I thought Morrowind blowing up would make things interesting), but ended up playing mostly as a Nord because I think the story just makes more sense for a Nord. I don't like ignoring the MQ, it makes me feel like I'm missing out on content (even if I've completed it before). I had the same issue in Morrowind where the story didn't seem to make a whole lot of sense for anyone but a Dunmer, at least in my opinion. Right now I'm playing with a Nord ranger/wandering warrior, and I think it fits the theme of the game very well. Next one is probably going to be a breton mage, I was waiting for magic mods to come out because vanilla magic was frankly kind of boring.
