My last character was a warrior who sometimes used magic so I chose an Imperial. It was my first Imperial and I was very happy with how it went. She was as strong as she needed to be with One-Handed and Block being her top two skills. It was true about Imperial Luck too. She'd find a lot more coins when looking for loot and that helped a lot at early levels. My usual build is a Breton Mage and that's what Kiir Srinna will be as soon as I can get started. My Khajiit was fun; she would reverse pickpocket, giving a gold ring if she liked someone and giving them a dead fish if they weren't nice. :tes:

I usually prefer to play Altmer, since I like magic and the Altmer have this feeling of superiority. Furthermore, I like to imagine that my character can live for centurys and thus is still playable in the next TES. And my playstyle of a very aggressive Battlemage suits them well.
I also like to play Dunmer Assasins(Dark Elves are somewhat cool and I like MW) and Breton Mages(one of the strongest race, although a bit nerfed in Skyrim).

It's interesting to see many people using the continuity from past games dictating how they play the newest game.

It seems like no one really likes to experiment with the races, and once you've found one you like you stick to it. I'm not criticizing that choice; just noticing a trend.

I've experimented with different races but I always fall back on the Nords.

I think they have an interesting history as people, they also have a believable history. (As far as believability goes in a game like TES.)

Vriddi who I retired at level 40 after completing the Companions questline was an Orc warrior/smith/enchanter. Quite an OP combo.
Griselda is a Nord assasain, thief and general lowlife
Belladonna Malfleur is a Breton witch
Angharad is a Bosmer huntress
Hildi Bladesong is a Nord bard and patriot
Thats my current characters
After that I plan on an Imperial Crusader to do the Imperial questline, a Khajiit unarmed specialist (to be fleshed out), and an Altmer mage who hates the Thalmor and joins the Stormcloaks (just to see if the game reacts any differently to her. I suspect the answer is mostly no )

I never play as a human, if given the choice not to. I have 3 characters in Skyrim, thus far.

1) Argonian - spellsword
2) Orc - Warrior
3) Khajiit - thief

I pick Bretons.

don't care what anyone says: The default look looks more human than a Nord's default look.

An Orismer tank, with sneak and archery on the side. Now I'm a jack-of-all trades thanks to enchanting and these awesome staffs (and a few rare thrall and firestorm scrolls) I found.
Second character is an Altmer vampire, with no points on health. Master of Archery, Illusion, Daggers, and stealth. If I'm seen, I'm dead.
Third character is a werewolf, but I have no clue what perks are benefitial so I have to wait. For now, he's a Kajiit with alteration for the ebonyflesh spell.

Made an orc necromage vampire with the Elemental Fury shout and amulet/blessing of Thalos, went from  to :bonk: and hopped back on my altmer poisoner.

So, yeah. I mostly play altmers or bretons, with the occasional orc when I want to split the world in half.

Bretons are my favourites.

Breaking down my most memorable characters by each game:

Arena: 1 character - Breton mage

Daggerfall: 1 character - Altmer mage (I never play local race first)

Morrowind: 4 characters (characters I have had a lot of playing time on) - 1 Nord warrior, 1 Dunmer Agent, 1 Breton Mage, 1 Imperial Legionary

Oblivion: - 4 characters 2 Breton (First: I don't remember very much, was my first character, and was on the PS3 version. Second was a Mage) 1 Dunmer mage, 1 Nord Assassin

Skyrim: 4 characters - 1 Breton Mage, 1 Nord Mage, 1 Dunmer Assassin, 1 Imperial Thief

Nord Weapon Master type. Light Armor, One Handed, Block, and Two Handed. Little bit in Smithing and Alchemy to help.

I usually go based on stats of the build, playing on Master coupled with the skills use seems to make sense for my style of playing. I have trouble playing any class that isn't human.

White... Oh you mean in Skyrim...
I am normally a Breton or Imperial. I like Bretons because they seem pretty cool, but Imperials have badass NPCs like Janus Hassildor so this is a tough decision. I guess Imperial is my race.

I always play Argonians. When I picked up Skyrim last Christmas I hadn't even seen the official trailer so I had no idea what they looked like this time around, but I decided before I even turned on the game that I was going to play an Argonian, and I've never regretted that decision.

Imperial all the way :)
I've tryed all races and i make a decision: i like human races, Imperial, Breton, Nord (only because the fit best with the role of Dovakhiin)... elves are made worse than ever, i prefer the WoW way of them... Argonians and Khajiits (especially this race for my thief build) are Ok, but Orcs... no i really don't like them!..
Black people don't count as humans?
I feel for redguards.

Any and all.
right now i got a vampiric female dunmer witch, but in skyrim alone ive played every race but khajiit and breton. which were my two main races in oblivion.
also, i used to hate altmer, but they are pretty awesome in skyrim. their racial bonuses are hard to pass up for a pure mage playthrough.

For me I had a high elf mage that ended up being a master of everything. I also made an imperial holy warrior.

I find it interesting that most people dont really factor in the racial powers as to why they choose a race. I would expect this to be a main feature?

I play:
----------
An Orsimer mage. (He's my main.)
A Dunmer battle mage, wears heavy armour, uses greatswords, but still dabbles in magic.
----------

I plan to make a Khajiit soon, not sure what playstyle, probably some type of mage xD

I've noticed this too. Nothin wrong with it by any means (I do it as well).

Dunmer Nightblade that heavily focuses on magic will always be my favorite race :)
