Your opinion on 1.5

Post » Wed Jun 13, 2012 3:59 am

I really like the new kill cams and underwater but at the same time they gave us stuff like the broken werewolf killcams and dragons are still bugged...maybe i have to start a new game AGAIN!

I have heard about broken werewolf kill cams but I have not experienced them myself. Granted I don't play as a werewolf that often, but I did do the Hircine Ring quest with my werewolf character and completed it in werewolf form with the 1.5 patch and got a few werewolf kill cams and did not notice any bugs.

Well it's alrite if you're into killcams I guess. Too bad there wasn't any changes to the dialogue or any thing...

Actually, I have noticed new random dialogue here and there, it surprised me. (First playthrough went to about level 50, 2nd went to 75 I think, current one is at 67.)

Also on ps3,
also didn't have the problems "everybody" had,
also now avoid the ps3 forum like the plague after my last post there,
also very happy with 1.5....no problems.

I have a huge list of broken quests

2/10

Start a new game and I promise the majority of them will be fixed. I started over after 1.5 and I have had no problems with quests whatsoever. I know it svcks, but it's worth it imo.

I know you weren't asking me, but I love them. They make me laugh out loud. In my head I'm thinking, "Die, [censored], die! Taste my flames! Burn! Hahaha!". Same thing whenever I get a destruction killcam on a bandit. It gives me goosebumps because it hits it home that I'm freakin' frying the guy's brains out with dual casted Spark. Yeah, I'm a freakin' Sith living in Syrim. The power of the darkside!!!

Basically, it gives me a couple of seconds to actually savor the pain I'm causing in a cinematic.

i have no problem with them at all. btw.

just like 2worlds1 voices, i laugh when i see/hear them.

and, a couple seconds is right on: i've seen crap in other AAA that are absolute disasters: the "world" of gtaiv, for starters.

I was talking more about the character dialogue. It's kind of nice to be able to answer someone with more than a one line response.

I like the cams, but they do need to be fixed. Several occasions of them outright missing, failing to actually kill the person, or getting a friendly nearby killed due to being unable to stop a "stream" magic during the cam.

I love the archery killcams. The magic ones not so much. Underwater looks amazing, but whenever I'm near running water, even a small stream, the framerate drops worse than ever.

Love the new kill-cams, started a new char because of it; the only issue i'm finding with the patch is the AI path-finding. it seems beth made them stupider ahah

I just had my first magic kill cam. I started a new playthrough as a pure mage and I'm walking/running/sprinting my way to Winterhold (not going to fast travel in this one) and I've been blasting wolves with sparks the whole time. What was so great about my first magic kill cam was that it was made epic by the ever familiar "level up" sound effect just before it finished. Like it so far.

It's been great for me. Underwater looks great! New kill cams are interesting. And you can't be mad at all the fixed bugs. The thing that really stands out is that I haven't had one single freeze since 1.5 (knock on wood) the game is very stable and the framerate is as good as always. On Xbox anyway. How is everyone else doing with 1.5?
I got Skyrim on release for Xbox and my 1st play through broke 250 hrs. in. My 2nd play through broke 100 hrs. in. All pre 1.4 patch.
On new years day my sister bought me the Collector's Edition for PS3. I'm several hundred hrs. into this character and I have to say that as outraged as I was over all that wasted time, I have not had a single problem pre or post 1.5 on PS3.
It's not perfect but for me it is completely playable now. Peace

Sorry but I couldn't say how it is for Xbox cause I refuse to keep punching myself in the face. It's painful.

i also havent freezed since 1.5 but the quest bugs are still there like repairing the phial, bountys that you can't do and also like the nightingale hood that it gets lighter and lighter until its white/grey instead of black its really annoying and of course the [censored] lag
please bethesda fix this i love this game dont give hope :-(

It's been pretty good for me so far on the 360. The new killcams for magic and bows aren't bad, since it makes playing a mage more visually interesting, and the new killcam animations for melee are a nice bit of variety for my warrior. And I like the improved underwater visuals; the blurring is a nice touch. And, correct me if I'm wrong, but it seems like it also made it so that when underwater, you can actually see the world above the water instead of just a green wall with ripple effects now.

Just hope the patch adding in Kinect support fixes a few of the more annoying bugs while they are at it, like the Nirnroot Nova bug that causes the nirnroots glow to progressively stack until the various nirnroot glow like the Vegas Strip. I'd love to see some more of the stuff that was shown in that video from GameJam, like the seasonal foliage and the like.

I think 1.5 has cause me to crash when i come into contact with water.

Havn't seen the new Cams yet.

So for me this patch hasn't been such a good one.

What do you find to do after 350 hours?
Im 70 hrs in and I find pretty much everything repetitive, almost ALL quests involve you to get into a dungeon and kill things, and dungeons are just plain boring and stupid anyways.

Well mostly just exploring, leveling up and making money. Bethesda said that I could play the game the way I wanted to play it so foolish me ....
I have another 350 in this character and have no desire to finish off the MQ yet. Just doin' my thing, whatever. I'm just glad what I have now is at least what I paid for. When I get around to completing it on PS3, I'll probably go and spend several hundred more hrs. doin' my thing with it on Xbox. Peace

70 hrs are probably "little" for you,but i think that for Bethesda even 50 hrs of "average time" would be a victory.

And by the way what other game of this genre you think isn't repetitive after that you've played it so much ? dungeons are mandatory in this type of games; the way they're implemented perhaps is debatable, but some of them are remarkable in my opinion, probably you were unlucky in your playtroughs.

However, i'm convinced that in 70 hrs its impossible to judge objectively this particular game -as how strange it may seems you can find new interesting places/things even after 250-300 hrs.

i.e. I've discovered only yesterday two of the 4 divine quests that i haven't still played,"The Book of Love" and "Kyne's Sacred Trials" - one of which involve a totally "new style" of playing
