Your opinion on 1.5

Post » Wed Jun 13, 2012 5:40 am

It's been great for me. Underwater looks great! New kill cams are interesting. And you can't be mad at all the fixed bugs. The thing that really stands out is that I haven't had one single freeze since 1.5 (knock on wood) the game is very stable and the framerate is as good as always. On Xbox anyway. How is everyone else doing with 1.5?

I love the new bow kill cams. I have yet to try them with magic, but I will make a mage tomorrow. I have encountered a dragon that wouldn't land until a horker caught it's attention, but that could have been where I was.

I'm not going to get into kill-cams but archery was completely [censored] over.

Not all dragons will attack you off the bat. This has been complained about since the release of the game. It is NOT a bug.

Except it was flying about 5 feet over my head, and was hostile. It just wouldn't land.

I love the new kill cams, but they're not very frequent! I've only ever experienced one on my pure Mage.

Love the new kill cams especially for bows and magic. The water also looks stunning and dreamy immersive. Very stable game as well. Feels like we got a free DLC for the price of a wondrous FREE patch!

Hail Bethesda! Everyday is christmas when playing their games!

Since downloading it I've had the game hang a couple of times, which it had stopped doing with 1.4.

The killcams are cool, since I'm playing as a Mage right now I get them a bunch when I dual cast.

The water looks better.

It gave me a problem with the water at first with the whole PS3 freeze when you enter water, but once I overcame that it has only gotten better. (:

No real problems except the weird damage thing with bows and arrows, not that it bothers me.

I'm happy with it.

Since getting the patch, I have had four bandits materialise out of thin air, already aggressive, and sometimes a kill-cam triggers but no damage is done. Also the guy that meets you at Dustman's Cairn wouldn't attack the draugr 90% of the time, just stood there blocking.
I'll give it a chance though, ten minutes after getting 1.4, the whole game shuddered to a halt, then worked fine since. I assume that was the effect of a 1000 dust piles getting cleaned up at once, maybe the same is happening with 1.5 and won't be repeated. Or not.

Loving most of the new kill cam stuff, duel weld kills are more varied now. Not so much a fan of the two hander head bash animation though, doesn't line up most of the time and the anim looks a bit rough. Kinda like your character hugging the enemy and having a fit.

Still bugs and probably new ones to but so far it seems to be smoother and I seem to be getting more varied random encounters this time round ?

Nice One Beth ;)

Wasn't there supposed to be a fix to smithing, where you couldn't spam iron daggers to max smithing?

I thought I read about this, though I didn't see any mention on the patch notes.

Yes it has been changed. You can still spam iron daggers if you are determined, but you need a lot more iron daggers. Making more expensive things makes you gain experience quicker.

Personally, it works perfectly for me.

Granted, I didn't have any problems with bugs/glitches before 1.5 (not even with 1.2), but I like the refinements that come with each new patch, and I'm having a blast with the new Kill Cams. So far, based solely upon my personal experiences, every patch that Bethesda has released has been a smashing success that has deepened and improved my gaming experience. Skyrim has been exceptional right out of the box, and every patch/update makes it even better.

Great job, Bethesda!!! I've been playing since Daggerfall, and if you keep going the direction that you are, I'll still be playing when The Elder Scrolls XII releases!

P.S. I'm very, very glad that I play on an Xbox 360 and not a PS3... have you perused their sub-Forums? Yikes.

I think they wasted time adding new things instead of making it purely a fix patch.

I really like the new kill animations and the underwater looks great as well. I've noticed that more NPC's have random conversations now too, which I didn't notice at first, I just thought that they didn't give NPC's much dialogue. Now people won't shut up, lol. I have actually started experiencing crashes since 1.5 that I didn't have before, but that could be because I've been playing alot longer tho?
