Do you think Dragon Mounts is Possible for XboxPs3?

Post » Wed Jun 13, 2012 5:57 am

Dev's can do it if they really REALLY wanted too. But it would totally ruin exploration. The thing they thrive on in Skyrim. If i could just fly to every dungeon, the game would be ruined, seriously.

The only way I can see it maybe working is if they added the whole world map (including Akavir) to the game.

But even then it'd take away most of the adventure element from the game.

I don't understand why people oppose additions that they aren't being forced to utilize. If you don't want to fly a dragon, then you don't have to. But your personal hang ups and doubts about how it would preform shouldn't impede another persons gaming experience. I wouldn't fly one on an RP character, but I defiantly think it would be a [censored]load of fun on one of my [censored] characters. You are Dragonborn, after all.

No one is opposing here i think...a lot of things seen in the Game Jam and mods for pc would be amazing if added even on consoles.

But there are serious technical reasons behind the choice of not adding them -at least until now -from the developers.

You really think that would be fun destroy everything that moves riding a dragon in such a tiny "world" ?

For the Horse mounted combat: well,i think that having the opportunity to cast a spell or to pick up things - or throw up some weapon i.e. arrows - while you're riding horse its essential and well fitted in the environment.

However, if -at worst -the eventual choice of riding Dragons (and Mammoths for Todd Howard and all the Lotr enthusiastic :bunny: ) would be comprehensible -if implemented in a measured way - i can't say the same unfortunately for other things like ride Bears and Sabre cats.

We have already too much unintentional humor in the game ,thanks.

You can put all the LotR youtube footages that you want..i don't change my mind

And for the record even those movies are full of unintentional humor if you ask me, look at the short bearded "Dwarf" for instance

But don't despair yet; we all know that Todd Howard is a big fan of the series so..all ready to ride Mammoths and Bears...

I'm not so hot on riding big fat furry bears, but as the film shows riding vicious, fast and highly manoeuvrable cat like creatures do have their advantages when it comes to warfare.

What cats ?

apart from joke - and with all due respect for their work of course - they have problems even at doin' proper horses animations and behavior,i can't imagine the mess that would be riding a sabre cat

they had dragon mounts in that vid where they told the team to add things they want...they also had arrow/magic kill cams and now they're patched into the game.
Here's hoping the other stuff gets added...

I'd rather see a saber cat mount, they could follow you indoors and would be a sweet companion that you can ride. I want to be a skyrim he-man riding on my saber battle cat :)

Well, everyone have his priorities and perhaps i'm even in minority as usual, who knows.

But kill cams were already there -and still have problems when triggering sometimes (broken animations) a Dragon/Saber Cat to mount and interact with could be more difficult to done properly in game.

However, i think that they monitoring even the blog and the forums to decide what feature to add,so everything its possible at the end

Saber cat mounts or pets would be great, this is a fantasy game not real life.

Fantasy doesn't necessary involve ludicrous things technically broken/difficult to implement and that perhaps adds even more problems to the game (at least on consoles)

No one have talked about real life here,at least not me

Saber cat mounts are ludicrous to you. Obviously everyone does not share that opinion. And we have no idea how difficult it would be for the devs to add them. And I would rather have my battle cat rushing in to battle beside me then my horse. Its been done in other games and is a part of fantasy.

Its a forum where everyone have the right to express his opinion; of course they're ludicrous to me.

But surprise surprise i know how difficult can be doin' a Sabre cat mount "credible" judging from previous work on horses and other things by Bethesda.

All the wilderness animals behavior/animations are disappointing (with some partial exception already mentioned elsewhere)

i.e. make a comparison with Red Dead Redemption horses/wilderness and you will understand what i mean

p.s. this thread was about riding dragons, not Sabre cats by the way  my fault to have been involved in this.

It started as dragons and majority said we would think a dragon mount would be awesome but it just would ruin skyrim's experience. Some suggested other creatures of skyrim as mounts and a lot liked it. Examples would be the mammoth mount, sabre, maybe even bear mount. We should try less bashing and more thoughtful anolyzing.

We can all express our opinions that is what the forums are for. I Just happen to disagree with yours, while I am sure others will agree with you. As for the horses I don't really have a problem with the way they work, they could be less aggressive. However that same aggressive nature would be perfect for a saber cat mount/follower. IMHO ofcourse

For various reasons in my opinion Dragon Mounts are not necessary in this moment - and so other kind of "ridable" animals- even more because they will probably add further technical problems to the already "suffering" consoles (the dragons especially)

This doesn't necessary involve that the developers can't put them in the game in the future to please some of you or that me and others would dislike them.

There is no reason "to fight" or to be so "rough" in your language :ermm:

As i've said before,in a moment of "confusion" due to other reasons i made a clear mistake here in responding to you,'cause i think that yours was only a "personal attack" on the basis that i've talked "so bad" about your beloved Sabre cats" - just a supposition.

My apologies to the Op and to all the guys that have intervened here in good faith of course for my behavior  i try to "clean up" some post if possible.

We should try less bashing and more thoughtful anolyzing.

You're perfectly right
