your thoughts on opening another region as DLC?

Considering that there is supposed to be a rebellion against the thalmor in Hammerfell, opening up parts of Hammerfell and continue the civil-war questline would be awesome.

I'm pretty sure they won't do an entierely new province, but revisit an old one? Take cyrodiil, they have the landmass, the layout and stuff, all they to do is high rez it up. Both Morrowind and Crodiil have been ravaged by war, and in morrowinds case a volcanic eruption, so a lot of the land could be ruined. Take Cyrodiil, I imagine that the Thalmor came from Anivil and went north fom there, they must have had a large host, and needed to burn down a few trees to make camp. IMagine coming out from the Great Forest and seeing nothing, just burnt ground or ruined forest. Anvil could of been completly sacked. There are legitamat ways to cutting down the amount of work that needs to be done and also making it fit in with the lore.

Morrowind could be even worse, sparse burnt landmasses, but with small pockets of hope, of houses, of the surviving culture of Morrowind and the animals and plants. A score mixed with the odd flute or whatever it was playing the theme couldn't hurt. VVardenfall could be inacsessable, the Argonians could stop you going south, makes it smaller and lore freindly.

I'm sure much of Morrowind is still habitable. I'm guessing it is mostly Vvardenfell that was effected. The south of Morrowind was hit more by war with the Argonians. I'm sureeI read on a thread in the lore section that the Argonians and Dunmer have now made a pact of some sort. I think I read someone put that they are now allies.

The borders of Skyrim isn't that far west of Vvardenfell and I can't expect it to immediately change when you cross over into Morrowind.

Here's how I see it - Skyrim is a mediocre Elder Scrolls game. A good game in it's own right, but poor by Elder Scrolls standards.

With that in mind, i'd hate to see another whole main region of Tamriel wasted on Skyrim's design mould. Especially if it's a region i've been looking forward to seeing for a long time.
Thats how i feel about TES:O But lets not discuss that here :)

I'd say, do a region we have already seen, Cyrodel or morrowind to be exact because other places such as hammerfell or elswyer or what ever, could be games in them selves.

Adding already used regions would not ruin future TES games...so lets go to Cyrodiil and Morrowind

Return to Atmora would be pretty interesting. No one has been there for thousands of years. Perhaps it is once again inhabitable? At least enough to explore the ancient ruins there and get tons of loots! ;)

Orsinium, West Morrowind... The way the roads are laid out on the map make these two regions very likely

I recall Bethesda saying Skyrim's DLC's would be much bigger than Oblivion's and Fallout's previous DLC's but less of them.
I certainly would not approve of them visiting a province in Tamriel we have not been to yet, save that for it's own game, not a petty DLC.
Personally I would like to revisit Cyrodiil and have some cool walk down of memory lane in epic graphics
although It would be fine for them to just have some of Cyrodiil as doing the whole thing would be a bit too much work :|
unless of course it just didn't really have much content in it.

Hammerfell battered the Thalmor 25 years before the start of the game but a quest line in Hammerfell wouldn't be bad.

Before going to a new landmass, i would like some political, cultural and religious aspects in Skyrim to be expanded upon.

Don't think it will be a new province. A new area like in the Fallout games is a possibility, but because this is the first dlc I'm not sure.

In all honesty I'd rather they spend 5-6 years on a single province than the ~6 months they've had since Skyrim's launch.

Seeing as how the meat of the storylines in the game are based in skyrim I don't see why there would be a reason to go deep into another province. I personally wouldn't want it to so they can save those other areas for future games. I would like an area not to big but something worth adventuring based on the outskirts of the border with a couple colonies to get a taste of how things are outside of Skyrim but nothing thats going to take me away from it.

I want to go back to the battlespire. Even if the only time we went there in TES it was daggerfall graphics it was awsome.

if they bring back any of the areas from previous games it would be Marrowind and Cyrodiil because of the gates in skyrim.

Running a bit wild here.

You are the first Dragonborn in 200 years. The Empire is in shambles, and Titus Mede is (potentially) dead.

You may or may not be the last Dragonborn (given what happens in the MQ, there's some doubt cast on whether or not the prophecy actually had to do with you, or maybe some future conflict.)

So, open up Cyrodil, start a campaign to become Emporer, as is your right, work on reorganizing and refounding the Empire, kick the Thalmor to the curb, and finally FINALLY kill Elenwin (woohoo) as she so richly deserves.

Okay, done dreaming, But I would pay good money for that.
