A Detailed Minute by Minute Dissection of the Dawnguard Trai

Post » Thu Jun 14, 2012 2:12 pm

I give up. Either I'm blind and deaf, or everybody else is seeing and hearing things.
Where did you see a man? It was just a dragon, nothing on his back. Or, as I said, I'm completely blind.

Capes are awesome

I have to admit, that i think you are right... ;) By trying to pause it, i couldnt see it either...

Whishfull thinking perhaps..? :P

Does anyone find it strange that the Dovakhiin at the end has glowing eyes? As well as the speech overlay of "I will end the sun's reign"....? That's the part I'm hung up on.

The man that welcomes us in the castle has the same eyes. It probably just means that the Dovahkiin becomes one of them and helps them "end the sun's reign" (if he so chooses, of course. He could also side with the Dawnguard). Also, it seems that we're going to visit a plane of Oblivion, where glowing eyes might not be so out of place ;)

0.31 Dovakiin is with the little girl which means "you have returned my daughter" are the right words

Is 0.52 a new special kind of arrowhead??

Finally, I don't think vampires want to block the sun, they want to change it..
So it still gives life, but no longer hurts them

For players who sold the Elder Scroll to the Orc in Winterhold, what is going to happen?
Is this a new Elder Scroll? The last time we used a scroll, we got teleported back in time.
Will player also be teleported back in time? Perhaps to meet the Snow Elves before they became Falmers?
I suspect it is a different scroll. The series is called the Elder Scroll(s) afterall, no reason why there could not be more than one located within in Skyrim.

Also would love to see the Falmer before their current state.

You missed the point that the elder scroll shows a map over the reach
I don't think it's the reach. It doesn't match up. It most likely shows the new area with the opposing strongholds.

Pretty sure it is. Compare the river you see to the river on the map:

Also, notice the insignias for both Markarth and Solitude glowing red on the Elder Scroll map.

That is the bit that doesn't match up at all. The river is shown to go all the way to the ram head settlement in the trailer. The water around solitude compared to the trailer is completely different. Use the map from your skyrim copy to compare it side by side. That's what I did and it is very different.

There is a river running all the way up to the settlement of Markarth though, and I'm pretty sure it feeds into the Carth River seen in the trailer.

It is similar yes but when compared to the real thing very different. The river enters the sea in the actual map. In the new one it doesn't. The marsh area doesn't match either. Also the river in the Dawnguard trailer goes right up to the Markarth lookalike area. In Skyrim the river stops before Markarth. Another thing is that the sign for Solitude doesn't match up. What it looks like is the right area is the vamp area as it matches up with it being on the coast and the area on the left is the Dawnguard stronghold.

Based on the fact the vampire boss is addressing the player/dovahkiin in his speech it is most logical to assume that he is saying "you have returned my daughter" as in Dovahkiin has brought the boss' daughter to the vampire castle and now he is asking if dovahkiin would be interested in joining them. I doubt that dovahkiin is his daughter since Beth has used a nord male to represent him so far. And the castle being his daughter, well, that doesn't make any sense really. The chick with the scroll is the likeliest candidate to be the vampire's daughter. I'm hoping that Molag's and Vivec's epic jack off contest (milk finger, lol) is somehow implemented into the plotline though.
