Man, How Awesome would it be to see Count Hassildor in Dawng : V - Skyrim

Oh my god, I remember that guy. He blames you when you kill his wife when trying to cure her vampirism. I remember in my playthrough that screwed me over because I needed him for another quest but he wouldn't talk to me because of it.

He doesn't blame you, he just tells you to leave because he wants to be alone with his dead wife.

Well, it's clear that Hassildor has no love for vampire-kind (going as far as to exterminate those uncivilized vampires who near his domains). It could be that his benevolent spirit makes him decide to stop these vampires from becoming too powerful for mortals to handle...or he realizes that no sun means no crops, and no sun means progressively colder temperatures and both of those mean the eventual extinction of man and mer.

The greatest deception of all would be if Janus Hassildor founded, or supported the Dawnguard in his capacity of Count of Skingrad, hiding his vampirism even from the vampire hunters (if anyone could, it's Janus). Perhaps he feels that the only people who could threaten or kill him are other vampires, so he works to exterminate those others.

Interesting concept there maybe he does want to eliminate them before they get to powerful and extinguish the sun.

What if he has been biding his time to unleash these vampires and eliminating the sun has been his true motive all along and he was just waiting until he had these vampires under his belt, and he extinguishedtbe uncivilized vampires near him just to save face, this is speculative of course but what if his intentions are darker than what we have been lead to perceive.

No he doesn't. He knows full well the cure will kill her since she refused to ever feed.

Sorry forgot exactly what he did. Maybe I killed his wife for some other reason before. But yeah you're both right it was probabl him just wanting to be alone with her.

I dont blame ya, he does get rather harsh but that is expected.

I don't think he'd be cool with these kind of vampires.

exactly he may be a vampire but he isnt evil he would probably rather fight against these vampires at the dawnguards side if the dawnguard wouldnt kill him.

He was bad in the sense of being powerful. Not in the sense of being evil.

It would be nice to at least have a reference to him.

I loved how he would come out of no where when those Necromancers tried to kill me... He was useful aswel... No aggression and he was pleasant. I didnt see anything bad about him... He was as normal as a Vampire could get.. him and Vincente were my favorite in the entire game

Those same vampires also drew the attention of vampire hunters who just happened to pick Skingrad as their base of operations they could hunt them down. Hassildor was obviously threatened by their presence, so killing the vampires drove the hunters out and that was all part of The Mages Guild questline

Thinking of him founding/supporting Dawnguard does remind me of the Altmer vampire Seridur in the Imperial City, who deceived the members of the Order of the Virtuous blood. If you end up siding with Roland whom he sends you to kill and you get Seridur instead, they'll learn of his deception. The Mages Guild were the only other ones in Cyrodiil to know what Hassildor was though, and that was because of a deal they made with him but I forgot the details of it

Keep in mind it's been QUITE a long time. People change, and he may have found a comfortable place amongst his kind

I did wander what happened to Old Haasildor when i first became a Vampire in Skyrim so it would be nice.
It's also be nice to see a Vampire who isn't an evil muderous beast , and yes i know the court mage -sybil?- at solitude is a vamp but she seems to torture and feed on prisoners in the dungeons ..unless after leaving Skingrad he became a lot more vicious, perhaps he joined the vampire lords - although not being a volhikar vampire they probably just killed him-

the story talks about how they are rebuilding their family cause a vambire from skingrad showed up wiped half of them out in 2 mins cause he was so ba then just walked away with His daughter. true story.

well it could help to explain the dawnguard vampire slayers, with The Order at thier backs it could explain how they appeared out of nowhere with a giant castle and an (apparently) large force

Very true it would explain all of that with a military or a small military force it requires money and power and it would certainly explain both.

He wasn't "evil". He just fed like any other "normal" vampire.

No. I think Janus Hassildor was a member of the Order. The Cyrodiilic vampires, which are racist against every other vampire clan. He took out the vampires from his territory not only because they threatened his food supply and his people, but because it was Clan law to wipe them out.
