Hey Bethesda, how bout you add armorcloth dying...

Post » Fri Jun 22, 2012 2:14 pm

Soo... Armor dying like in Fable 3 ? Or:
- Manually picking ingredients
- Making dyes
- Appling on armour parts.

...

:goodjob:

Excellent idea!!!! Make players work for their visual satisfaction.

It is comical how much better the peoples spelling is on the Lore and Morrowind forums than on the Skyrim forums....

Problem is that every dyed armor would have to be made a new separate armor entry in the game files, dying freely would be impossible. (Don't let the "Creation Engine" fool you, it's just camourflaged Gamebryo ).

dying armor would be great. Would make your character more indivdual but the colours must be rough looking and suit to the set, cannot have complete bright colours because it would look dreadful.

Its a great idea on paper but when it comes to practicality with the way skyrim handles textures, it doesnt work. it would be incredibly tedious.

Sorry guys. :(

I was thinking about this while playing the other day... I was hating that my Shrouded Hand Wraps did not mach my Ebony Mail. I wanted to change the Hand Wraps to be a soft blue color so I don't looks so weird. I love both items, and keep them both on even though they don't match.

Dying equipment? I'm for it.

Edit: Oh, dying the COLOR of the equipment. Still for it.

Dark Souls, Two Worlds, Amalur, Diablo....Only Dragon Age is worse

You're crazy. The Robes of the Champion from DAII is the absolute best mage attire I have ever seen in a video game.

Haven't played DA2 yet, but Origins was really lacking in equipment, you would get like 3 different models for each armour category. Can't blame Bioware though since the focus of the game was mostly on story and not dungeon delving,

Yeah, asking for such freedom in the dying system would be too much...Although It wouldn't be that hard and resource consuming to just add 2-3 basic (gold, silver, bronze) colour variations for each armor.

Oh, you have no idea...there are, to my knowledge, less than a dozen dungeons in DAII. You visit many "different" locations, but dungeons are literally copied over and over. I've never seen that in an RPG, not since the NES.

Imagine going through the same cave over and over again, except each time it's a different quest and a "different" cave. The same damn cave all throughout the game and it has different names depending on what plot hole it's trying to fill and new enemies/leveled loot as if you've never entered it before. That's DAII. About the only way it's better than DAO is that it looks pretty and combat is smooth...you can't even choose your race and background!

I was repulsed and I am not getting near DAIII unless and until it has history-making reviews from all sources for being one of the most novel RPGs of all time.

I'd love to dye the non metal parts on my female Nord Berserker's Ancient Nord Armour set black.Maybe having to go on a bug catching and flower picking spree to obtain the ingredients for a quest for a shop keeper (Radiant Raiment in Solitude perhaps) so they can stock a limited selection of clothing dyes.

A red chefs tunic ... oh good god I wish they could implement this. Dwarven armour would look pretty cool black too ... it looks comical the way it is now.

No, it wouldn't. As someone already mentioned, the Armoury of Tamriel has separated weapon design and materials from each other, so you can forge Nordic style weapons from any material, for example. They are working to expand it on armor too, so you can soon make any style of armor from any material, the items taking the color of the material used. Nordic Steel armor made from ebony is quite pretty
