I've interacted with Runa a bunch of times, but never an allowance request yet! She does play outside in RIften a lot and tells me she hangs out with Brynjolf. So I'm assuming she's already been practicing the family trade in town and doesn't need handouts from me. *beam*
(Hey... Brynjolf has time for the kid but is too busy for his boss?! *scowl*)
Okay, so when exactly does Runa talk about Brynjolf? I saw your post and since I've been "surveying" all of the kids, I decided to adopt her for a trial run. I've had Svari, no spouses as of yet, and I own Honeyside, where we've been living for a week or so. No mention of him, in fact, she hardly ever talks. When she does, it's either "there are lots of scary people here, mama. Promise you'll keep me safe?" or "I like living here. The tree in the park is so pretty..." (ya mean that tree in Whiterun? that city about 10,000 miles away that you lived in for a whole 5 seconds?)
Do you need to finish all of the TG stuff and become Guild Master or something?
Speaking of Riften, am I the only person who's discovered the joy of taking a game of tag into the orphanage, then bringing it back outside to Riften--only with
all of the orphans playing, too? Or what I call "untreated sewage tag," where you make either kid "it" then run to the lower levels and into the water?
One more still weird thing courtesy of crazy, buggy Svari (she at least cleared that not-yet-adopted memory stuff once I adopted another kid...): I came into their bedroom at Honeyside to find Runa doing that bizarre "oh doll...how I will relish the day you finally come to life and kill all of my enemies..." voodoo dance right in front of the dummy, and Svari is standing in front of her, silly wooden sword in hand, and just glaring at her...
Okay, I got more and that's it for now, I promise! We're playing tag in Riften, they kinda trail off so I go into a few stores. I look around for them and where are they? Well, Runa is standing with her back to the blacksmith's store and by the rail, while Svari is standing maybe 2 feet away and facing her--like David Bowie and Mick Jagger in the "Dancing in the Streets" video, except that neither of them are moving. They just stare at each other like that for 20 minutes (yep, I kept track of the in-game time, because Hearthfire, and Svari, are so freaking bizarre and entertaining...).
