Sequel!

Post » Fri May 27, 2011 6:48 am

Had to register just to voice my love for this game - and also to join the legion that really would like to see a sequel happen sometime. Do you guys have this project at least in the file of "possibly maybe if we get funding", or by now you already consider it unfeasible/uninteresting for you to do? I mean there's obviously some devotion out there for this game...

Sadly, Headfirst no longer exists: they were in the middle of making another Cthulhu game and their funding dried up. Now they have, as far as I can gather, all gone their separate ways so the chance of there being another Cthulhu game in the near future is as small as it was before DCotE. If I won the lottery I swear I'd just try to get all you guys back together and fund you into Cthonic genius and Mephistophelian brilliance.

Yeah that about sums it up, I think virtually all of the ex-headfirst people have another game under the belt, some even have two I am sure, and it is highly unlikely that the original troupe will be reunited, but although it won't necessarily be a sequel by Headfirst I am sure the Cthulho Mythos will see many more installments by other companies, some possibly in the same vein but with improvements no doubt. I think the torch has been passed on, now just to see who takes it up and runs with it. The copyrights can be bought I am sure plus all the material for the sequel we developed for it, although even if someone started working on it today they'd pretty much have to start from scratch since technology moves at a tremenduous pace, and modern engines have a lot more power which should be utilized to the utmost.

they were working on a playable demo for it, but I don't know how far they got exactly, I saw some backgrounds and characters once.
