Yeah that about sums it up, I think virtually all of the ex-headfirst people have another game under the belt, some even have two I am sure, and it is highly unlikely that the original troupe will be reunited, but although it won't necessarily be a sequel by Headfirst I am sure the Cthulho Mythos will see many more installments by other companies, some possibly in the same vein but with improvements no doubt. I think the torch has been passed on, now just to see who takes it up and runs with it. The copyrights can be bought I am sure plus all the material for the sequel we developed for it, although even if someone started working on it today they'd pretty much have to start from scratch since technology moves at a tremenduous pace, and modern engines have a lot more power which should be utilized to the utmost.
