I don't smoke, drink alcohol nor take drugs IRL (LoL) but I like to do these 3 things in games because...they're games, so animated and possible smoking is a big YES from me

i would want smoking. but as already stated people might say it promotes smoking in children but then agian sence it is rated m it should fall on the parents leting them play the game

its not so much the parents its more of the countries..... lets say Egypt doesnt allow smoking.... Egypt would probly give fallout new vegas an AO rating...

that means losing sales.... but if it was an AO rating in the US well i'll buy it anyway..

Then why don't they change it for Egypt (example) or any other country that has a problem with it so much they want to ban? They make changes already for countries that have problems with Red blood and skulls.

I don't think it's really necessary to have in game, but it would be kinda neat. But it's never going to happen.

There would be many arguments against it, the most popular most likely being that kids will see it and think it's cool and be tempted to smoke themselves. They would probably also make the claims that the drug use/murder going on in the game isn't so much of a problem because it isn't as cool, or isn't as easy to get or do, etc.

As stupid as the reasons and the arguments against it are, the arguments for it are less strong. Oh yeah, and the argument of "why not? It's freedom of personal choice, expression, etc.." is just not going to cut it. No one cares anymore. They want reasons based on hard facts. So that leaves the pro arguments with "well...its in the game because its cool, and we felt like it" which is definitely not gonna fly.

And as much as I would like the devs to say "well [censored] your dumb sht, we're going to put it in and to hell with your stupid hypocritical censoring bologna" I can respect them if they do not. They are in business to make money, not to start an argument with [censored] activist people.

I will bet that you will not be seeing smoking in the game.

i dont know about anywhere ells but if smoking was put in the game it wouldn't be banned in the UK. smoking was in Bioshock and that was sold in the UK.

If they allow smoking, which I'm fine with, I'd only do it rarely just for badass moments. They'd of course have to have cigars so that if you're in your pinstripe suit and fedora spraying a casino with bullets from your Tommy you could be chompin' a stogie.

If we are able to actually smoke cigars, and ciggarrets what would you like to see as far as side effects.

I would like:
1. To be able to get extremely addicted.
2. To get sick, as in slower walking, and weezing
3. Unique dialouge options such as when you would talk to another smoker he would start by saying "Ahhh a fellow smoker, what can I do for you?" or if you are angry you can "[Smoker] (blow smoke in face)" and finally if you talk to a mafia boss he would ask you "Hey you smoke? Here a have cigar. New Cuba's finest my freind."

Considering the timeline and events in the game I wouldn't blame the makers for allowing your character to be able to smoke. After a nuclear apocalypse I'd start puffing away, then blowing away ha! However also noting the amount of countries that think label smoking naughty and bad I doubt they'll put it in. Hopefully they are able too... even if its modded in

Well you don't want them smelling like smoke, or getting yellow teeth, think of the morel repercussions. :huh:
