Definitive ending to New Vegas poll.

I'm kind of glad that the story has an ending. Just wandering around forever would get pretty boring, and by the time you're done with all the side quests and have found all the cool little toys hidden around the wasteland, you'll just want it to end. It's just nice to have closure. If the epilogue is really good, you won't miss running around at all.

I really don't like it.

For me, it was a real bummer at the end of Fallout 3 (pre-Broken Steel) when it just gave you that slide-show and took you back to the main menu, game over.

It's going to have to be a pretty damn good slide-show this time around to justify the ten extra seconds I will have to take to reload the autosave it makes a moment before you choose to complete the final quest.

I also can't stand not being able to continue on playing and doing the little things, I know I can just reload my save before the end. But It just seems weird to ingore the main quest and go off spending hours and hours doing other things while your needed... It's like telling someone to hold on whiling their dying so you can go take a vacation to europe and be gone for weeks.....
I just think with opened ended rpg's you can still have a awesome ending and still be able to continue on after. You don't have to die in the end to have a great ending.. Which they pretty much told you.. I mean why else can't you continue if your still alive? Anyway I still am gonna buy the game and play it like crazy like I still do fallout 3. (tho with fallout 3 you can still play after...) Also I beleiave that fallout isn't like other games where you have to have a ending... Most games just get you to point A to point B, But with Fallout you get so much more. Anyways I just dont feel optomistic about it.. And also if their not going to add a DLC story, Then does that mean there is gonna be a lvl cap? With no add-on?

snip

You forget, though, that the sidequests, either directly or indirectly, affect the outcome of the ending since the ending consists of how your actions have affected the factions and settlements. So, with that in mind, the sidequests are more encouraged to be tampered with before the ending - and them affecting the ending leaves (imo) little to no reason to be finished afterwards.

It shouldn't be that urgent. The game's not gonna end until the player says so. NCR world domination doesn't need to be rushed.

honestly, I think the ending of Fallout 3 was lame, probably because I didn't realise that the code for the purifier was 216... besides, it was lame because if you wanted to go back and get something from outside the rotunda, the exit was locked. As long as the definite ending doesn't svck, I'm okay with it, but you can bet that whiners are going to complain to Obsidian, and they are going to make a Broken Steel clone, but probably like,

[Broken Legion] Fallout: New Vegas DLC #1

"the NCR has to destroy the Ceasar's legion once and for all! But will they be able to? Fight alongside the Ceasar's legion and defend what is rightfully theirs! Or, help the NCR remove the Legion's evil from the Mojave Wasteland! The fate of New Vegas rests in your hands!"

I want to see a movie like this. The plot plays out and everything gets done and the cameras follow the actors around after its done anyway and they just wonder around the set doing random things. I can't believe that so many people aren't ok with just reloading a save and going about your business.

I try to finish everything before I do the final parts of the MQ anyway maybe that's why I'm dismayed at this reaction.

Not Obsidian's decision- they just make the game, Bethesda makes the decisions. Anyway, I really hope they don't screw it up with a DLC.

Same here. No point in making a complex ending to the game if you're going to break it soon after.
